Job Description We’re hiring an Outpatient Therapist who can help us more effectively accomplish our mission: to help individuals reconnect with what matters most and thrive in their personal lives and relationships. We help children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families navigate life’s most difficult moments — from trauma and anxiety to grief, relational conflict, and everything in between. We want to create a world where mental health care is normalized, accessible, and delivered with genuine compassion. Our goals for this role are to: • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based therapy services to a growing caseload, • Serve children and adolescents, or couples and families — populations where our community need is highest, • Bring specialized trauma-informed and/or EMDR-trained perspective to our clinical team, • Contribute to a culture of clinical excellence, collaboration, and holistic care We believe that wellness is a fundamental human right — and that the best therapy happens when clinicians feel genuinely supported, not stretched thin and left alone to figure it out. And that is where you come in! We are seeking a licensed or provisionally licensed therapists to assist in delivering compassionate, trauma-informed care to clients across the lifespan — with a particular focus on children and adolescents, couples and families, and trauma/EMDR work. Who You’ll Work With This is a W-2 employee role that reports directly to the Clinical Director. Day-to-day you’ll interact with: • Our Clinical Director — for individual consultation, supervision (if associate-level), and clinical guidance, • Fellow therapists — in monthly group case consultation and team meetings, • Our Office Manager — for scheduling, administrative support, and operational coordination, • Our billing team — who handles insurance credentialing and claims so you don’t have to Duties and Responsibilities Your primary responsibility will be providing high-quality outpatient therapy services to your clients — with clinical excellence, ethical grounding, and genuine care at the center of everything you do. A secondary responsibility will be contributing to the health and culture of our team — showing up for consultations, collaborating across disciplines, and growing alongside your colleagues. More specifically, you will: • Provide individual, family, and/or couples therapy (in-person and telehealth) to children, adolescents, and adults, • Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans, • Apply trauma-informed approaches; EMDR training/experience strongly welcomed, • Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in SimplePractice (progress notes, treatment plans, discharge summaries) within required timeframes, • Respond to client needs within 24 hours and maintain reliable availability, • Collaborate with clients’ broader care teams (PCPs, psychiatrists, schools) when appropriate, • Participate in team meetings and monthly group case consultation, • Consult with the Clinical Director on complex cases and ethical matters, • Complete annual CEUs and stay current with licensure requirements, • Use your network, directories and your skills to attract clients to fill your caseload You Will Know You’re Successful In This Role If... • Your clients are showing measurable progress toward their treatment goals, • Your documentation is consistently completed on time and reflects clinical precision, • You’ve built a caseload you feel genuinely connected to — including kids, teens, or couples, • Your colleagues describe you as collaborative, reliable, and easy to consult with, • You feel supported — not just supervised — and you’re growing in your clinical identity Requirements As we’re looking for an ideal fit, our next therapist will likely bring: • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy, • Active NC licensure: LCMHC(A), LCSW(A), LMFT(A), PhD, or PsyD — provisionally licensed clinicians with a supervisor of record are welcome to apply, • Minimum availability of 25 clinical sessions per week, • Experience with or strong interest in working with children, adolescents, couples, and/or families, • Trauma-informed practice orientation; EMDR certification or training is a significant plus, • Strong written and verbal communication skills and a team-oriented mindset, • Reliable internet connection and a private, HIPAA-compliant space for telehealth sessions, • Comfort with EHR systems — we use SimplePractice Preferred • 2+ years of post-licensure clinical experience, • CAQH registration and existing insurance panel credentialing (BCBS, Aetna, United, etc.), • Prior group or private practice experience, • Niche specialty (children, teens, trauma, grief, anxiety, EMDR, couples/families) What Your Position Looks Like at GCW You’ll carry a caseload that feels full but not overwhelming. You choose your own schedule and hours, with flexibility built in from day one. You’ll practice at the Grace Counseling and Wellness Center in Greensboro. You won’t be figuring out billing, chasing insurance claims, or doing intake coordination alone. Our administrative and billing teams handle that infrastructure so your bandwidth stays where it belongs: with your clients. This Role Is Perfect For You If You... • Thrive in a team environment and genuinely enjoy peer consultation and collaboration, • Are passionate about working with kids, teens, couples, or families — or want to build that specialty, • Have trauma-informed training or EMDR experience (or are actively pursuing it), • Want clinical support and mentorship — not just a space to rent, • Care about holistic, whole-person care and align with a wellness-forward practice model, • Want to build a meaningful caseload without the administrative burden of running a solo practice, • Are ready for a W-2 role with real structure, real support, and real flexibility If you’ve read through this and you’re nodding along — it’s time to take action and apply!
