Job DescriptionDescription: The Concrete Carpenter is responsible for constructing, installing, and dismantling formwork systems used in concrete construction projects. This role requires hands-on experience in heavy civil or commercial construction, strong carpentry skills, and the ability to read and interpret construction plans. The Concrete Carpenter must demonstrate high standards of workmanship, maintain strict safety compliance, and work effectively as a member of the construction crew under the direction of the Crew Chief. Essential Duties & Responsibilities • Construct, install, align, and dismantle concrete forms and forming systems for foundations, walls, columns, slabs, and other structures, • Measure, cut, and assemble wood, metal, and prefabricated formwork components according to project specifications, • Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and layout plans, • Ensure formwork is properly aligned, braced, and secured prior to concrete placement, • Position and secure reinforcing steel bars or mesh within concrete forms to strengthen finished structures, • Assist with layout, grading, and site preparation activities, • Perform basic welding as required for formwork or reinforcement installation, • Operate and maintain standard carpentry tools and construction equipment (hand tools, power tools, formwork hardware, etc.), • Work with rod busters and other trades to ensure proper reinforcement installation, • Inspect formwork and reinforcement prior to pours to ensure quality and compliance with specifications, • Maintain strict compliance with company safety procedures and OSHA standards, • Identify and report potential safety hazards immediately, • Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control, • Strong work ethic and reliability, • Attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship, • Commitment to workplace safety, • Ability to work effectively within a team environment, • Strong communication skills with crew members and supervisors, • Problem-solving skills in field conditions, • Time management and ability to meet project deadlines, • Adaptability to changing job site conditions, • Professional attitude and respect toward coworkers, supervisors, and clientsRequirements:, • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, • Valid Driver’s License preferred, • Minimum 2–3 years of verifiable concrete formwork carpentry experience preferred, • Strong understanding of formwork systems, steel reinforcement, and concrete placement preparation, • Full working knowledge of all concrete finishing tools and equipment, • Strong understanding of concrete placement techniques, curing methods, and surface treatments, • Commitment to safety guidelines and a strong work ethic, • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs., • Frequent standing, kneeling, bending, climbing, and crawling, • Ability to work on ladders, platforms, and mechanical lifts, • MUST be eligible to work in the U.S., • MUST be capable of completing Job Specific Physical Work is performed primarily on active construction sites and may include exposure to: • Extreme hot and cold temperatures, • Loud noise from heavy equipment, • Areas near traffic, • Heights and confined spaces, • Indoor and outdoor environments, • Exposure to dust and mud, • Must wear personal protective equipment
