American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Westminster, Colorado. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 06/01/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs, • Hours: 36 hrs/wk, • Start Date: Jun 1, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • Float pool position covering multiple acute care hospitals within Zone 3 (Denver city center area), including facilities in Lakewood, Longmont, and Westminster, CO, • Units span a range of specialties including Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, and ED Obs, • Adult and geriatric patient population with diagnoses including cardiac, neuro, ortho, oncology, renal, urology, general surgery, gynecology, psych/detox, ENT, and general medicine, • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6 based on acuity, • Heparin drip titration required, • RT equipment in use including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP, • EMR: Epic, • 12-hour night shifts (7p–7a), • 6–9 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule, • May be asked to float into other acuity levels including ICU (low acuity holds), PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele, • Schedules are released 4–6 weeks in advance; travelers are expected to be flexible to help fill gaps in permanent scheduling, • Scheduling follows one of two formats: (A) assigned to a single facility for the week with possible in-facility floating, or (B) Just-In-Time (JIT) assignment, where the facility is communicated 1–2 hours before shift start, • 13-week contractRequirements, • Active CO RN license or Compact (NLC) license required; pending licenses will not be accepted, • Current certifications required (no pending certifications accepted): BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS, • Minimum 2 years of MS-Tele experience required, • Prior neuro experience preferred, • BSN not required, • Epic EMR experience, • Must reside at least 60 miles from the Denver city center (the zone's designated city center) to qualify for the travel pay rate; a valid driver's license is used to verify permanent address, • 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years; both must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire, • Copy of a valid driver's license required for considerationAdditional Information, • Provide MS-Tele nursing care across multiple specialties and facilities within Zone 3; no single home base facility, • Travelers are responsible for securing housing that allows them to float throughout the full 60-mile zone, regardless of where they choose to stay, • Designated charge nurses on each unit; charge nurses typically do not take patient assignments, though night shift charge nurses may occasionally carry a small patient load, • Nurse aides are available on unit, • Orientation consists of 1–2 days with a preceptor; clinicians must be on-site in Colorado for the week of orientation, even if initial modules are completed remotely, • May be asked to participate in the holiday rotation, • On-call/standby requirements are rare and typically limited to low-census situations, • All time-off requests must be submitted prior to starting the assignment, • Any color scrubs are acceptable With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
