American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Charlotte, North Carolina. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 02/09/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 48 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, • Position located in a Pediatric ICU of a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and teaching hospital, • 24-bed PICU with an average census of 21-23 patients, • Patient population includes respiratory, trauma, DKA, seizures, neurosurgical, renal failure, orthopedic, surgical, transplant, and complex medical cases, • RN to patient ratios vary by acuity at 2:1, 1:1, or 1:2, • Day shifts from 6:45 am to 7:15 pm with every other weekend required, • Alternate coverage for major holidays is expected, • Floating to Pediatric CVICU, NICU, Peds Progressive Care, and General Peds units as needed, • No on-call or callback responsibilities, • Epic EMR is used, with experience required, • Specialized equipment includes Artic Sun, Belmont Rapid Infuser, Camino device, Alaris and Medfusion pumps, and others, • Will provide comprehensive critical care to high-acuity pediatric patients with a diverse range of diagnoses, • Work alongside a multidisciplinary team including charge nurse, intensivist, residents, APPs, CNAs, phlebotomy, IV/VAT, RT, and unit secretary support available 24/7, • Centralized and bedside monitoring in place, • Navy scrubs required for this position, • Free parking is provided, • Orientation includes two days departmental and NEO, • Strong culture of teamwork, accountability, and compassionate care is emphasized, • First-time travelers are accepted, • Time off requires manager approval\n \n Requirements\n, • Active NC or compact RN license required, • Current BLS and PALS certifications required, • A minimum of 2 years recent high-acuity Pediatric ICU experience required, • Competency with vasoactive titration, invasive lines, ventilator and trach management, HOFV, CRRT, feeding tubes, chest tubes, and bedside procedures, • Experience with Epic EMR, Artic Sun, EVDs, Camino, and other advanced PICU equipment required, • Ability to float to Pediatric CVICU and other pediatric units\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
