Job Description Temporary Dental Hygienist (6–7 Week Assignment) Pay Range: $46–$63/hour DOE Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist for a temporary 6–7 week assignment. The Dental Hygienist will provide professional prophylaxis, scaling, root planning, and polishing, as well as fluoride treatments and patient education. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently while contributing to a collaborative dental team. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Work with reception staff to schedule hygiene patients efficiently., • Review and update patient health and dental history forms., • Accurately chart periodontal health for each patient., • Perform thorough and gentle prophylaxis, scaling, and polishing., • Conduct head and neck examinations., • Provide fluoride applications and oral hygiene education., • Counsel patients on nutrition, oral health, and smoking cessation., • Ensure patient comfort and communicate professionally at all times., • Document treatment notes accurately., • Maintain and organize instruments, trays, and supplies., • Monitor and uphold cleanliness of treatment and exam areas., • Collaborate effectively with all members of the dental team., • Follow HIPAA and infection control standards., • Graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene program., • Current Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in the state of practice., • 1–2 years of clinical dental hygiene experience., • Proficiency in providing prophylaxis and taking X-rays., • Current BLS/CPR certification required., • Strong working knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, and practices., • Ability to comply with Sterilization & Infection Control practices., • Professional, reliable, and able to work independently., • Clinic environment with routine patient interaction., • Ability to sit, stand, bend, and reach for extended periods., • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds routinely and occasionally up to 25 pounds., • Requires fine motor skills, manual dexterity, and visual acuity., • Exposure to standard clinical safety precautions. #LM TRINITY EMPLOYMENT SPECIALISTS IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER See the great things people are saying by checking out our Google reviews, along with our Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, X/Twitter.Please visit theCareer Centeron our website for some helpful resources to help in your job search, to build a resume, for interview tips and many job opportunities! dental hygiene program graduate • Record and review patient medical histories., • Administer oral hygiene care to patients. Assess patient oral hygiene problems or needs and maintain health records. Advise patients on oral health maintenance and disease prevention. May provide advanced care such as providing fluoride treatment or administering topical anesthesia., • Feel and visually examine gums for sores and signs of disease., • Examine gums, using probes, to locate periodontal recessed gums and signs of gum disease., • Clean calcareous deposits, accretions, and stains from teeth and beneath margins of gums, using dental instruments., • Provide clinical services or health education to improve and maintain the oral health of patients or the general public., • Chart conditions of decay and disease for diagnosis and treatment by dentist., • Expose and develop x-ray film., • Attend continuing education courses to maintain or update skills., • Maintain dental equipment and sharpen and sterilize dental instruments., • Maintain patient recall system., • Feel lymph nodes under patient's chin to detect swelling or tenderness that could indicate presence of oral cancer., • Administer local anesthetic agents., • Conduct dental health clinics for community groups to augment services of dentist., • Place and remove rubber dams, matrices, and temporary restorations., • Make impressions for study casts., • Remove sutures and dressings.
