Job Description We are seeking anexperienced Vascular Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to joina dynamic inpatient surgical team in Syracuse, NY. This locum tenens positionprovides the opportunity to work in a high-acuity, inpatient-only setting with acollaborative team of surgeons, nurses, and support staff. Shift & Schedule: • 12-hour shifts with flexible scheduling, including days, nights, evenings, and weekends, • Call: 1-2 days per week, overnight emergency OR call (taken from home), • Full-time availability preferred Practice Setting: • Inpatient only, no clinic responsibilities, • Average service census: 15-20 patients, rounding on 3-5 per day, • Documentation: Epic EMR Responsibilities: • Conduct pre-op physical exams and assess patient conditions, • Round on inpatient vascular surgery patients, coordinate care, and communicate with the healthcare team, • Diagnose and treat illnesses within scope of practice, • Order, interpret, and follow up on tests and labs, • Assist intraoperatively as first assistant, including removal of dialysis catheters, • Perform procedures such as suture removal and post-op care, • Prescribe medications as appropriate and coordinate follow-up care Qualifications: • Active NY Nurse Practitioner or PA license, • Board certification or eligibility (NCCPA for PA; AANC for NP), • ACLS and BLS certification Syracuse, NY, is a vibrantcity in Central New York known for its rich history, strong healthcare andeducation sectors, and four-season outdoor activities.
