Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Property Manager to oversee the daily operations of our equine facility and properties. This role is ideal for someone passionate about animals (dogs and horses), with a strong background in property management, animal care, and team leadership. The manager will ensure the barn runs efficiently, maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and animal welfare while managing budgets, staff, and vendor relationships. This position requires hands-on involvement in a dynamic outdoor environment. Key Responsibilities • Facility Management: Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the property, including barn, stables, arenas, pastures, yards, and other infrastructure. Coordinate repairs, cleaning schedules, and equipment inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and optimal functionality., • Staff Supervision: Lead a team of barn staff, including stable hands, trainers, and maintenance workers. Responsibilities include hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and fostering a positive work environment., • Budget and Inventory Control: Manage operational budgets, track expenses, and procure supplies such as feed, bedding, and equipment. Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to secure cost-effective deals., • Client and Guest Relations: Interact with horse owners, boarders, riders, and visitors. Handle boarding contracts, lesson scheduling, event coordination, and resolve any concerns promptly., • Safety and Compliance: Implement and enforce safety protocols, emergency procedures, and regulatory compliance (e.g., zoning laws, animal welfare guidelines, and environmental standards). Conduct regular risk assessments and training sessions., • Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records of horse health, facility maintenance, financial transactions, and inventory. Use software tools for scheduling and reporting, management of property access control systems both onsite and remotely for other properties. Horse Care Oversight: Supervise the health and well-being of horses on the property, including feeding programs, grooming, veterinary coordination, and turnout schedules. Ensure adherence to best practices in equine husbandry and welfare standards. Qualifications • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Equine Science, Agriculture, Business Management, or a related field preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Horsemanship Association or similar) are a plus., • Experience: At least 3-5 years in equine facility management, barn operations, or property management with technical and software skills. Hands-on experience with horses is essential., • Skills:, • Strong knowledge of horse behavior, nutrition, and health care., • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar tools; controlled access, experience with farm management software (e.g., BarnManager) is advantageous., • Leadership and communication skills to manage teams and interact with clients., • Physical stamina for outdoor work, including lifting up to 50 lbs and working in various weather conditions., • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail., • Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed for animal care and events.
