About the Role: Groupon is rebuilding how it sells — from the ground up, with AI. The vehicle is Project Foundry: a production fleet of AI agents designed to give Groupon a parallel sales force and make every human rep sharper the moment they step into a deal. The fuel Foundry runs on is intelligence: which leads are worth pursuing, in what order, and why. That intelligence layer is what this role exists to build and own. Reporting directly to the CSO, the AI-Powered Growth Intelligence Associate owns Groupon's lead scoring architecture, routing logic, and pipeline forecasting. You work with one of the most data-rich commercial environments in e-commerce — proprietary consumer transaction signals, merchant health data, and years of conversion history. You don't configure Salesforce. You extract signal from it, build models on top of it, and use AI to turn raw data into the queue every rep opens each morning. There is no separate analytics team to hand off to. You build it, you own it. The intelligence layer you build is what Foundry's autonomous agents run on. When an AI agent sequences an outbound lead, reactivates a dormant merchant, or routes an inbound inquiry — it is working from your scoring model. When a rep opens their queue, the ranked order reflects your logic. You sit at the foundation of the AI sales architecture, not at its edge. North Star Turn Groupon's raw lead data into a predictive intelligence system — so every rep opens their queue and finds the right account, in the right order, with the right context, every single day. What You'll Do: • Own the lead scoring model — Design, build, and continuously refine the AI-powered scoring model that determines which leads get prioritised. Use firmographic data, behavioural signals, merchant health indicators, and conversion history to predict outcomes — not just activity., • Define and improve lead routing — Translate scoring intelligence into assignment rules that get the right lead to the right rep at the right time. Work with the Sales Operations team on implementation; you define the logic and own the outcome., • Build pipeline intelligence — Give the CSO and Sales leadership a live view of where pipeline is healthy, where it is at risk, and what is likely to convert this quarter., • Run experiments on live data — Test whether a new signal improves conversion. Measure the delta. Iterate. Every change has a before/after record. You do not ship and move on., • A degree from an Ivy League or equivalent top-tier university strongly preferred — data science, computer science, economics, statistics, or a quantitative field that trained you to think in systems. Up to 2 years of professional experience., • Hands-on fluency with Python and data tools — you have built models and connected data sources. You need to build a working pipeline without asking someone else to write the code., • Active use of AI tools — you have used LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or equivalent) to build something real, and you know the difference between a demo and a deployed workflow., • Analytical rigor without a safety net — you build your own measurement frameworks. You do not accept a metric you cannot define or a result you cannot explain., • Builder first. Your instinct is to build before you ask, and to measure before you conclude., • AI-native, not AI-curious. You use AI the way a previous generation used spreadsheets: constantly, purposefully, and with measurable output., • Comfortable owning something fragile. You stabilize it, document it, then improve it., • Rigorous with ambiguity. When there is no clean data, you make a reasoned call, document your assumptions, and build a way to test whether you were right. SUMMARY The Senior AR Credit & Collections Specialist plays a critical role in securing company revenue by managing customer credit risk, driving collections, and resolving complex receivables issues. This role requires advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, strong customer relationship management, and a deep understanding of chargebacks, MSA allowances, and retail compliance. The Senior Specialist partners cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Service, Compliance, and Supply Chain teams to reduce DSO (Days Sales Outstanding), mitigate risk, and improve cash flow. KEY RESPONSIBILTIES • Ensure customer payments are received within agreed-upon terms through proactive communication of aging via email, customer portals, and direct outreach, • Identify delinquent and high-risk accounts early in the receivables cycle and take corrective action to minimize exposure, • Review customer creditworthiness and make informed recommendations regarding credit limits, terms, and order releases, • Periodically analyze customer credit lines and limits based on activity, payment trends, and exposure (quarterly and annually), • Release orders within established thresholds and escalate exceptions or high-risk situations to senior management, • Analyze, validate, and resolve customer chargebacks, deductions, and disputes, including MSA (Merchandising Service Agreement) allowances, • Partner with Sales, Trade Promotions, Compliance, Customer Service, and Supply Chain teams to research discrepancies and support recovery efforts, • Track and reconcile promotional allowances, shortages, RTVs (Returns to Vendor), and credits to ensure accurate application and reporting, • Prepare and analyze AR aging, exposure, and delinquency reports to support hold/release decisions and management review, • Forecast future delinquency by analyzing customer payment behavior, trends, and credit utilization, • Summarize receivables by maintaining invoice accounts, verifying balances, and supporting month-end close and reporting processes, • Provide insights and recommendations to improve collections performance, reduce DSO, and strengthen credit controls, • Ensure adherence to company credit policies, internal controls, and confidentiality standards, • Support compliance with retailer requirements, including EDI, deductions management, and documentation standards, • Identify opportunities to streamline AR, credit, and collections processes and improve reporting accuracy, • Stay current on accounting best practices and industry trends through ongoing education and professional development Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, • Demonstrated ability to resolve complex receivables, chargebacks, and customer disputes independently, • Professional demeanor with excellent written and verbal communication skills, • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working with minimal supervision while meeting tight deadlines, • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor’s degree a plus) or equivalent experience, • 5+ years of progressive experience in Accounts Receivable, Credit, and Collections, • Strong experience managing major retail accounts (e.g., Walmart, Amazon, Home Depot) preferred., • In-depth understanding of chargebacks, deductions, MSA allowances, and retail compliance, • Knowledge of supply chain processes, EDI, import orders, and invoicing, • Strong technology skills, including advanced Excel and ERP systems, • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), • Describe your experience managing complex AR portfolios, including chargebacks and MSA allowances., • How do you analyze and improve collections performance?, • What ERP systems, reporting tools, and Excel functions have you used in your AR or credit roles?
