Job Description Job Description The Confidential Role is responsible for leading and overseeing all production, planning, scheduling, and material management activities within the manufacturing facility to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of products that meet customer requirements. This role manages production supervisors, planners, and related personnel to achieve or exceed key performance objectives, including on-time delivery (OTD), quality, productivity, efficiency, safety, and cost performance. The Confidential Role will support the organization's commitment to safety, quality, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement. SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: • Manage daily production operations and material availability to ensure efficient workflow, schedule adherence, optimal resource utilization, and on-time delivery of customer orders. Coordinate closely with Planning, Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Operations teams to address production priorities, material constraints, and changing customer demands., • Develop, manage, and maintain production schedules that meet customer demand while optimizing labor, equipment capacity, and manufacturing resources., • Maintain accurate production and shipment schedules by proactively updating delivery dates and coordinating with cross-functional teams. Ensure effective due-date management, customer delivery performance, and timely communication of schedule changes., • Analyze inventory levels, demand forecasts, and supply constraints to ensure the timely availability of materials for production while minimizing shortages, excess inventory, and production disruptions., • Lead inventory management activities, including establishing stocking strategies, determining optimal inventory levels, maintaining inventory accuracy, overseeing non-stock material requirements, and driving effective replenishment processes., • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of ERP/MRP system data, including lead times, safety stock levels, sourcing parameters, reorder points, minimum order quantities, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and other planning-related information to support effective operational decision-making., • Manage and control manufacturing costs through the effective utilization of labor, materials, equipment, and production resources. Support and implement cost-reduction initiatives that improve operational efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance profitability., • Make informed sourcing and production allocation decisions based on manufacturing capacity, resource utilization, lead times, and business priorities using ERP/MRP planning tools. Monitor capacity constraints and adjust production plans as needed to meet customer requirements., • Collaborate with Purchasing and Supply Chain teams to develop and maintain a reliable, cost-effective, and high-performing supplier base. Support supplier selection, performance monitoring, and supplier development initiatives., • Monitor supplier and internal manufacturing performance related to quality, delivery, lead times, and cost. Work cross-functionally to identify and implement improvement opportunities., • Ensure all production and materials management activities support customer service objectives, operational goals, and financial targets while maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures., • Foster strong communication and collaboration between Customer Service, Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, Planning, and Manufacturing to ensure customer expectations and business requirements are achieved., • Support the achievement of key operational performance targets, including safety, quality, on-time delivery (OTD), lead-time reduction, productivity, inventory performance, and customer satisfaction., • Champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies to reduce waste, improve productivity, optimize workflows, and enhance overall operational effectiveness., • Develop, track, and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including production efficiency, schedule attainment, on-time delivery, inventory turnover, supplier performance, and cost performance. Utilize data to drive continuous improvement and operational decision-making., • Lead, coach, develop, and manage production supervisors, planners, schedulers, and manufacturing personnel. Support employee engagement, performance management, training, succession planning, and talent development., • Ensure compliance with all John Crane policies, quality standards, environmental requirements, and health and safety regulations., • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Materials, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Business or a related field., • Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations, production planning, materials management, or supply chain management, with at least 4 years of leadership experience in a supervisory or managerial role. Demonstrated success leading teams, driving operational performance, and achieving key business objectives in a manufacturing environment., • Minimum of 4 years of experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems for production planning, inventory management, master production scheduling (MPS), capacity planning, and materials management. Demonstrated expertise in production planning, scheduling, forecasting, and managing manufacturing workflows to support operational and customer delivery objectives., • Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and best practices, including inventory control, replenishment planning, demand forecasting, inventory accuracy, safety stock optimization, cycle counting, and inventory performance management to support operational efficiency and customer service objectives., • Demonstrated success driving operational performance and continuous improvement through measurable gains in key performance indicators (KPIs), including on-time delivery (OTD/OTP), cycle-time reduction, inventory optimization, productivity improvements, cost reduction, and supplier performance development., • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt, APICS CPIM/CSCP, or similar continuous improvement and supply chain certifications are preferred.
