Job DescriptionHiring 2nd Shift CNC Laser Operator $24/hr! Job Description The General Production Worker - Laser sets up, operates, and changes over CNC and manual machines, performs basic repairs and preventative maintenance, and ensures high-quality production through accurate measurement and inspection. This role supports laser and machining operations by editing and troubleshooting CNC code, reading blueprints, and using a variety of hand tools and measuring devices to meet production standards. Responsibilities • Set up, operate, and change over CNC and manual machines to support laser and general production work., • Edit and troubleshoot CNC code to ensure machines run efficiently and produce accurate parts., • Perform preventative maintenance on CNC machines to reduce downtime and extend equipment life., • Operate overhead cranes safely to move materials and parts as needed for production., • Read and interpret blueprints to understand part specifications and machining requirements., • Use measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, and tape measures to verify part dimensions and quality., • Carry out inspection of parts and assemblies to ensure they meet required tolerances and quality standards., • Use hand tools and basic repair techniques to adjust, maintain, and troubleshoot machinery and equipment., • Operate lathes, mills, and other machining equipment as part of daily production activities., • Follow established production processes and work instructions to meet output and quality targets., • Support assembly tasks as needed to complete finished products or subassemblies., • Experience setting up, operating, and changing over CNC and manual machines., • Ability to edit and troubleshoot CNC code for production operations., • Experience performing preventative maintenance on CNC machines., • Proficiency in operating overhead cranes in a production environment., • Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints., • Skilled in using measuring devices such as tape measures, micrometers, and calipers., • Experience with machining operations including lathe and mill work., • Ability to perform basic machine repair and troubleshooting., • Capability to conduct inspection and quality checks on machined parts., • Experience with general machine operation and production processes., • Experience with laser-related production or machining processes., • Familiarity with using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measurement tools for detailed inspection., • Comfort working with both CNC and manual mills in a production environment., • Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions accurately., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts. Work Environment This is a non-temporary production role on an afternoon/evening shift, typically from 1:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. You will work in a manufacturing environment that uses CNC machines, manual mills and lathes, laser-related equipment, overhead cranes, and a variety of hand tools and measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, and tape measures. The work involves standing, moving materials, operating machinery, and performing inspections in a shop-floor setting, following all safety procedures and standard production practices. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
