Job Description Part-Time School Nurse Date Revised: November 2025 Reports to: Principal Location: St. George Catholic School General Position Summary: The principal duty of all employees is to assist in the mission of the Church in the Diocese of Fort Worth. The Part-Time School Nurse fulfills the mission of the Catholic school by promoting and protecting the health and well-being of students and staff, ensuring a safe environment where every child can learn and grow in the light of Christ. The School Nurse provides healthcare, compassion, and support within the framework of the school’s philosophy, organization, and diocesan policies. This position serves as both a healthcare professional and a minister of care, offering medical expertise and spiritual presence that reflect the dignity of every person. The nurse works collaboratively with the principal, teachers, and families to support the physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness of all students. This is a part-time position (Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.), hired and evaluated by the Principal. Principal Accountabilities: Exercises discretion and independent judgment regarding student health matters and safety in consultation with administration when necessary. Supervision Given and/or Received: Reports directly to the Principal. Internal Contacts: Principal, teachers, school staff, diocesan offices. External Contacts: Parents, healthcare providers, diocesan vendors, local and state health agencies. Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements: Exempt, Part-Time, On-Site. Hours align with school operating hours and may include additional responsibilities such as professional development or school events.
