Learn more at About the Opportunity The Regional Business Unit Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of assigned businesses through out our New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania markets, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and insightful financial analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making. This role acts as a key finance partner to business leaders, driving profitability, cost management, and performance optimization. Job Duties Financial Reporting & Close • Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness, • Prepare and review consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP, • Manage revenue recognition for service contracts, inspection & testing (I&T), monitoring, and project work, • Analyze financial performance against budget, forecast, and prior periods; explain variances and trends, • Participate in the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes for the business unit, • Serve as a trusted financial advisor to business unit leadership, • Provide actionable insights to improve margins, cash flow, and return on investment, • Monitor and control operating expenses, headcount, and capital spending, • Identify risks and opportunities; recommend corrective actions to meet financial targets, • Manage, mentor, and develop finance staff supporting the business unit (if applicable), • Collaborate with Corporate Finance, Accounting, FP&A, and other cross-functional teams Core Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required, • CPA and/or CMA strongly preferred, • Willing to travel regionally 25% of the time, • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role, • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards, • Experience in fire protection, life safety, construction, facilities services, or other service‑based industries, • Experience supporting project accounting, WIP reporting, and recurring service revenue, • Multi‑branch or private‑equity‑backed company experience, • Experience with Sage Intacct and/or Service Trade software systems, • This is a salaried position - salary is negotiable depending on candidate experience, • Quarterly bonus opportunities, • 401K with a company match, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance, • Company paid Short Term Disability, • Company paid Long Term Disability, • Company paid Life and AD&D insurance, • Pre-tax accounts for health and dependent care, • Aflac, • Vacation and Personal time, • Paid holidays Job Type: Full-time This link leads to the machine-readable files that are made available in response to the federal Transparency in Coverage Rule and includes negotiated service rates and out-of-network allowed amounts between health plans and healthcare providers.
