Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Polysomnographer, • Discipline: Allied Health Professional, • Start Date: 10/24/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel Title: Polysomnographic Sleep Technologist Location: Charleston, SC Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night – 3x12-Hour (18:30–07:00) Schedule options: Sunday–Tuesday or Wednesday–Friday; holidays as needed Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The Polysomnographic Sleep Technologist performs diagnostic and therapeutic sleep studies for patients ranging in age from infants to geriatrics. The technologist is responsible for patient preparation, equipment setup, data acquisition, and accurate scoring of sleep studies. This role involves working with both adult and pediatric patients, often caring for one adult and one pediatric patient per shift. Job Responsibilities: • Conduct baseline, CPAP/BiPAP, VPAP, ASV, and oxygen titration sleep studies, • Perform Multiple Sleep Latency Tests (MSLT) and home sleep tests, • Monitor ECG, EEG, O₂ saturation, periodic limb movements, respiratory effort, and CO₂ levels, • Stage and score sleep data, identifying arousals, hypopneas, apneas, and other sleep events, • Fit masks (full face, nasal, nasal pillows) and ensure patient comfort, • Provide patient education and maintain infection control standards, • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Polysomnographic Technologist, • National Certifications: BLS and RPSGT, • Experience in both hospital and independent lab settings, • Ability to manage a 1:2 patient ratio, • Pediatric sleep study experience (ages 0–18), • Previous charge experience, • Experience scoring sleep studies, • Sleep study modalities: PSG, MSLT, home sleep tests, • Titration: CPAP, BiPAP, VPAP, ASV, and oxygen administration, • Monitoring: ECG, EEG, RIP, O₂ saturation, periodic limb movement, • Mask fitting and troubleshooting, • Staging and scoring of sleep data, including complex sleep apnea and Cheyne-Stokes respiration Unit Details: • Sleep Center with 10 rooms and 10 beds, • Ratio: 1 technologist per 2 patients, • Daily census: ~10 studies, • No floating or call requirements, • Large magnet-designated, level I trauma teaching hospital, • COVID-19 vaccine not required; flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted), • Scrubs: Caribbean blue Founded in 2015, HonorVet Technologies stands as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), proudly certified by NaVOBA and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
