Description Crew Leader of Logistics SUMMARY OF POSITION Under the direction of the Logistics Manager, the Crew Leader of Logistics is responsible for inbound/outbound deliveries, pack and load product using a forklift, organize storage areas, assist with cycle counts, and maintain a safe, clean work area. The Crew Leader is also responsible for coordinating the work of material handlers and truck drivers. The Crew Leader of Logistics is expected to be courteous and professional while upholding the Goodwill values of -Empowerment, Public Trust, Respect, Innovation, Quality, and Safety. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES • Supervise the day-to-day warehouse operations, with a focus on safety. Review all departmental activity daily to prioritize tasks for work group and makes job assignments to maximize efficiency in loading and restocking process. Ensure operations are performed in accordance with agency policies and procedures, • Assist with resolving problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, or customer issues, • Communicate with suppliers and/or customers to improve supply chain efficiency or sustainability, • Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer sales, order management, accounting, or shipping, • Monitor shipping processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements, • Ensure all scheduled stops internal and external are adhered to. Responsible for (re)routing of agency vehicles to best deliver goods in the most efficient manner available. Assist with reports, as necessary, • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, balers, compacters, and other machinery to move products accordingly, • Responsible for the safekeeping of all merchandise and/or products maintained on behalf of the agency, • Adhere to and enforce safety and loss prevention procedures to prevent injury to personnel and damage to property, equipment, and inventory, • Comply with all department and agency policies, procedures, and regulations, • Embrace the core values of the agency in the spirit in which the agency operates at work and in the community, • Contribute to the fulfillment of department and agency objectives and goals, • Actively promote diversity and inclusion and ensure a supportive, welcoming work environment for everyone, • Perform other duties as assigned MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • High School Diploma or GED and 3 (three) years of experience. Must have knowledge of logistical operations. Ability to become forklift certified within 30 days of hire, • Valid Driver License, clean driving record, and carry minimum liability coverage as required by the State of Texas, • Ability to work flexible days and hours (including weekends), • Able to read, write and communicate effectively, • Basic computers skills, • Must pass pre-employment background check and drug test PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Bilingual, • Supervisory experience PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS • Ability to work in hot/cold, humid and/or dusty environment, • Ability to bend, push, pull and stand for long periods of time, • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. with assistance Goodwill Industries of South Texas Inc. is an EO employer M/F/Vets/Disabled and other protected categories.
