Our Financial Opportunity Centers (FOC) helps low to moderate income families boost earnings, reduce expenses, and make appropriate financial decisions that lead to asset building through an integrated service model approach. The centers provide individuals and families with services across three critical and interconnected areas: employment services, financial coaching and access to income supports. SUMMARY OF ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES The FOC Coach provides direct services to low to moderate-income individuals who are enrolled as Financial Opportunity Center participants. This person assists clients in finding ways to supplement their income or reduce their expenses through benefits that the FOC will refer to as income supports. Income supports may include but are not limited to public benefits such as food stamps, medical benefits, LIHEAP for Utility assistance, and more; other benefits may include Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and Child Care Works. These income supports may be difficult to apply for, or challenging to find, or understand. It is the role of the FOC Coach to make these benefits accessible to FOC clients. Furthermore, the FOC Coach must be resourceful and motivated to find new benefit sources for their FOC clients. The FOC Coach will work with employment counselors and financial coaches to ensure that the client is getting assistance across these three major service areas. The FOC Coach plays a valuable role in helping clients achieve financial stability. Provide one on one income supports counseling to program participants. • Conduct a general benefits screening., • Discuss all benefits for which the client is eligible with that client., • Assist the clients through the application process, as needed., • Maintain contact with the client and monitor the status of their applications (e.g. lost, approval, denial, re-certifications, etc.), • Use Efforts to Outcome (ETO), a client management system, to document and reflect the outcome of their clients accurately and in a timely manner., • The classes may be part of a larger job readiness class offered by the FOC, or may be occasional workshops to the public, • Develop workshop materials or tailor existing materials to meet the needs of the community., • Cultivate a strong relationship with the local DHS (Dept. of Human Services) office. Advocate for the client as needed., • Create a network of referral organizations to help you assist the client in obtaining income supports (e.g. local Goodwill voucher program, free dental-work programs, etc.). Job DescriptionPosition Title: Team LeadLocation: Goodwill, Upper DarbyFull TimeOpen Availability RequiredPay Rate: $16.50 per hourPOSITION SUMMARY:The Team Lead oversees and participates in all day-to day store activities including safety compliance, front end and backroom oversight of the store. The Team Lead assists with functions related to sales, production and customer service and is a key holder responsible for store opening and closing activities as directed by the Store Manager and/or Assistant Manager. This position is a member of the Management Support Team.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES: • Complies with all organization policies and procedures., • Follows safety policies and procedures ensuring maximum security and protection of all customers, team members, and company assets., • Engages with all consumers, community groups, co-workers to promote the achievement of the company mission. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience., • Maintains strict confidentiality of all sensitive information concerning the organization, consumers and/or employees., • Assists with achieving 100% or more of weekly revenue and production goals through team member training and production focus efforts., • Handles Point of Sale and Accounting functions and transactions; responsible for store cash funds, issuing and counting down registers, bank deposits, and overages/shortages., • Performs necessary record keeping, daily reports, and reporting of money and sales to appropriate department personnel within Goodwill of Delaware & Delaware County., • Responsible to assist with the fulfillment of all production functions and individual productivity of Production Associate team members., • Assists with training of new retail team members, as assigned, to ensure that the highest level of customer service is offered to all., • Advises management staff of all progress, problems, and new development on a regular basis., • Assumes role of manager on duty and supervises team members on shift., • Conducts quality checks on carts and Z-racks., • Responsible for store opening and closing activities., • Assists with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring that the store is clean, neat, orderly in appearance., • Performs all other job duties as assigned.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: A High School Diploma or G.E.D. and a minimum of 1-2 years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education and/or training may be considered.SKILLS/ABILITIES:, • Basic computer navigation skills, and ability to learn new technical skills, • Excellent communication skills to include listening skills, • Excellent customer service skills, and ability to interact effectively with a diverse constituent population, • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment, • Ability to handle challenging situations with a calm and professional demeanor, • Ability to take the initiative and exercise good judgement at all times, • Ability to communicate and delegate tasks as well as supervise the follow-through of assigned tasks, • Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates including opening and closing of location, • Valid driver’s license is preferred WORKING CONDITIONS:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
