Job Description This is a 6-month assignment at Health and Human Services Commission for an Investigator/ Inspector V- Position could be extended The pay is $30 per hour Must reside in DFW. Travel within the region will be required, with reimbursement allowed. This will be partially remote once job training is completed. Work hours are 8 am -5 pm, 40 hours a week. No overtime allowed. Experience with investigations is required. Report writing and interview skills are required. Knowledge of the IDD population is also preferred. Job Description: The inspector V conducts on-site inspections and investigations, including those involving abuse, neglect, and exploitation of adults and children with mental illness or intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities in various Texas Long-Term Care facilities: • Home and Community-Based Services (HCS) Waiver Program, • Texas Home Living (TxHml) Waiver Program, • State Hospitals, • Managed Care Essential Job Functions: Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned. The inspector conducts on-site investigations to include the investigation of abuse, neglect, and exploitation at Long-Term Care (LTC) providers to determine compliance with federal and state health and safety regulations. The inspector completes written reports for each investigation, detailing the findings and providing narratives to support regulatory findings. The inspector summarizes facts obtained during an investigating whether abuse, neglect, or exploitation occurred. The inspector is responsible for ensuring the documentation is clear and concise. The inspector establishes priorities in gathering evidence to determine what methods to use in securing evidence such as going through the interview process or reviewing records to determine if abuse or neglect occurred. Analyzes evidence to complete a thorough investigation and determine if there is a preponderance of evidence. Evidence must follow the chain of custody and be protected during the process. This position will be mobile after training. Some training can be completed from home, but time will be required in the office for the first month or two as well as time in the field ( travel locally). The schedule is 8 am - 5 pm Monday - Friday with a maximum of 40 hours per week. No overtime allowed.
