Job Description Supervisor, Inventory Control Department: Distribution Center Location: Benbrook, TX Reports To: Manager, DC Inbound Operations Position Summary The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for leading all inventory accuracy activities across the Distribution Center, including cycle counting, variance investigation, root-cause analysis, and inventory integrity within Microsoft Business Central and Insight Works (Warehouse Insights). This role ensures the DC maintains accurate on-hand inventory to support ecommerce fulfillment, store replenishment, retail transfers, and overall supply chain operations. The ideal candidate has strong experience managing inventory in Microsoft Business Central or a similar ERP, understands warehouse processes, and can lead a small team to deliver best-in-class accuracy and control. Key Responsibilities Inventory Accuracy & Control • Lead daily cycle counting operations using Business Central and Insight Works., • Maintain and execute the DC’s cycle count program., • Oversee recounts, variance analysis, and root-cause investigations for all inventory discrepancies., • Approve and document all inventory adjustments, ensuring proper auditing and financial controls., • Own the DC’s bin integrity program, ensuring all locations are accurate, properly labeled, and consistent with BC setup., • Validate inbound receipts, putaways, picks, and moves for accuracy and adherence to process. Team Leadership & Development • Supervise 1-2 Inventory Control Specialists., • Assign daily priorities, monitor workload, and ensure completion of cycle counts and investigations., • Coach, train, and develop the team on DC processes, BC inventory transactions, and Insight Works scanning workflows., • Maintain expert-level knowledge of inventory management in Microsoft Business Central (or similar ERP)., • Ensure all BC inventory transactions (receipts, picks, adjustments, movements) are completed accurately., • Monitor Insight Works scanning exceptions, errors, and data integrity issues., • Partner with IT and BC Admin on configuration changes, system improvements, and process updates., • Work closely with Receiving, Putaway, Picking, Returns, Planning, Merchandising, and IT teams to resolve inventory issues., • Work with Accounting to review proposed adjustments, obtain necessary approvals, and ensure compliance with financial controls., • Communicate high-impact variances and systemic problems to DC leadership., • Track and report weekly/monthly KPIs, including:, • Inventory accuracy %, • Cycle count completion rate, • Variance trends (units & dollars), • Bin accuracy, • Shrink %, • Present findings and recommendations to DC leadership, highlighting systemic issues and process gaps. Required • 3–5+ years of inventory control experience in a warehouse or distribution center., • Supervisory or lead experience overseeing inventory functions., • Working knowledge of Microsoft Business Central, NAV, or similar ERP (SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, Dynamics AX/365)., • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, receiving, putaway, picking, and returns workflows., • Experience with hand-held scanners, RF workflows, or Insight Works Warehouse Insights (preferred)., • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, investigate issues, and drive root-cause resolutions., • Experience in retail, ecommerce, or consumer goods distribution., • Power BI or advanced Excel skills (v-lookups, pivot tables, variance reporting)., • Experience with cycle counting program design and shrink reduction initiatives., • Detail-Oriented: Maintains high accuracy in a large-SKU environment., • Analytical Thinker: Able to dissect complex inventory issues and identify root causes., • Leadership: Holds team accountable while developing talent., • Process-Driven: Ensures SOP adherence and continuously improves workflows., • Systems-Driven: Comfortable working in ERP and warehouse technology tools.
