Those stories are part of what makes this such a special place to work. \n Job Overview \n The Energy Management System Operator is an integral part of the Store Environment Team, supporting all Macy’s Inc. locations by turning on and off the lights and HVAC within company standards while creating a comfortable shopping environment for customers. The Energy Management System Operator responds to emergencies on an “on call” basis and works non-standard hours and flexible shifts. \n Full-time colleagues are typically scheduled to work 40 or more hours per week, while part-time colleagues are typically scheduled 12-24 hours per week. Hours are dependent on business needs and colleague availability. Information regarding hours per week needed for benefit eligibility purposes can be found here. \n What You Will Do \n\n • Schedule, monitor, and adjust lighting and HVAC systems for stores nationwide.\n, • Schedule lighting and HVAC for holidays, inventory, special events, and sales based on company standards.\n, • Monitor store temperatures to ensure they meet standards and troubleshoot any lighting or HVAC issues with field technicians.\n, • Use various energy management systems, including but not limited to: Andover Continuum, Ecostruxure, Ezenics, HI Solutions, Siemens, and I-Net.\n, • Prepare and distribute energy reports as requested or required.\n, • Perform all functions and duties of the Stores Operations Center position.\n, • Complete various Stores Operations Center and Energy Management assignments as delegated.\n, • Associate’s degree or 1-2 years of experience in a call/customer service center preferred \n, • Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as reports and procedure manuals \n, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills \n, • Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. \n, • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision\n, • Must be able to make sound decisions. \n, • Strong typing and computer skills, Microsoft Office (Teams, Outlook, Excel, etc.) or equivalent \n, • Strong sense of urgency and excellent follow up skills \n, • Ability to prioritize and multi-task \n, • Ability to remain calm in emergency situations \n, • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and store/company needs \n, • May be required to respond after hours, weekends and holidays during emergencies \n, • Merchandise discounts\n, • Performance-based incentives\n, • Annual merit review\n \n \n This job description is not all-inclusive and may not apply to colleagues covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
