Job DescriptionFabrication & Welding TechnicianOverview A growing manufacturing company is seeking a skilled Fabrication & Welding Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, thrives in a team environment, and takes pride in building high-quality components and machinery from the ground up. You’ll work from blueprints and technical drawings to fabricate, assemble, and weld metal structures while problem-solving and adapting to a variety of projects. No day is exactly the same—this position offers a diverse workload and opportunities to expand your skills. Key Responsibilities • Fabricate and assemble metal components and machinery using blueprints and specifications, • Perform MIG welding in flat, vertical, and overhead positions, • Interpret blueprints and Bill of Materials (BOM) to determine materials and production steps, • Measure, align, and fit parts according to precise specifications, • Operate fabrication equipment, including:, • Press brakes, rolls, shears, • Flame cutters, grinders, and drill presses, • Safely move materials using forklifts and overhead cranes, • Clamp, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, and bolt components as needed, • Monitor welding processes to prevent material distortion, overheating, or defects, • Inspect finished work to ensure quality standards and specifications are met, • Follow established safety protocols, especially when operating cranes and heavy equipmentRequired Skills & Qualifications, • 2–5+ years of experience in welding and/or steel fabrication (or equivalent hands-on experience), • Proficiency in MIG welding (required), • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings, • Knowledge of metal properties and welding characteristics, • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work, • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods, • Reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and team-oriented mindsetPreferred Qualifications, • Welding or fabrication certification/degree, • Experience operating overhead cranes, • Familiarity with a wide range of fabrication tools and machinery, • Experience in custom or heavy equipment manufacturing Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eugene, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
