Job Description Restaurant Manager Russo’s New York Pizzeria & Italian Kitchen – Kingwood, TX Russo’s New York Pizzeria & Italian Kitchen is seeking an experienced, hands-on Restaurant Manager to lead our Kingwood location. We are looking for a strong operator who understands both hospitality and business growth. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food quality, team development, community engagement, and driving sales. This is a leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, full-service Italian restaurant environment and wants to grow with a respected brand. Position Summary The Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire restaurant operation, including Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH). This role ensures exceptional guest service, food quality, team performance, operational efficiency, and revenue growth — with a strong focus on catering, delivery sales, and local community partnerships. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management • Hire, train, and develop FOH and BOH team members, • Conduct interviews and make staffing decisions, • Create weekly schedules based on sales projections and labor targets, • Provide ongoing coaching, performance evaluations, and corrective action when needed, • Ensure all staff follow opening and closing procedures, • Maintain a positive, professional, and team-driven culture, • Lead by example on the floor during peak hours Food Quality & Kitchen Oversight • Ensure all food is prepared according to Russo’s recipes and standards, • Monitor food prep, portion control, and presentation, • Verify prep lists are completed daily, • Ensure food safety, sanitation, and health code compliance, • Control food cost and minimize waste, • Conduct daily line checks and quality checks Guest Experience & Online Reputation • Deliver exceptional dine-in, takeout, and delivery experiences, • Monitor and respond to online reviews (Google, Yelp, Uber, DoorDash, etc.), • Address guest concerns promptly and professionally, • Implement service recovery strategies when needed, • Train staff on hospitality standards and customer service excellence Sales Growth & Community Engagement • Build sales through local marketing initiatives, • Network with local businesses, schools, hospitals, churches, and organizations, • Develop and grow catering accounts, • Increase direct delivery and online ordering sales, • Execute local store marketing strategies, • Coordinate promotions, events, and partnerships, • Develop relationships within the Kingwood community Catering & Delivery Focus • Actively pursue new catering opportunities, • Manage existing catering accounts and build repeat business, • Ensure smooth execution of catering orders, • Oversee delivery operations for efficiency and accuracy, • Promote direct delivery channels over third-party platforms Financial & Operational Management • Monitor daily sales, labor cost, and food cost, • Control expenses and maximize profitability, • Review voids, comps, discounts, and cash handling procedures, • Ensure accurate deposits and reporting, • Meet or exceed monthly sales goals, • Maintain proper inventory levels and ordering procedures Qualifications • Minimum 5+ years of restaurant management experience, • Experience managing both FOH and BOH operations, • Proven track record of increasing sales and improving performance, • Strong leadership and team-building skills, • Experience in full-service, fast-casual, or Italian concepts preferred, • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards, • Experience with catering sales and community marketing preferred, • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays, • Leadership & accountability, • Sales-driven mindset, • Operational excellence, • Customer service focus, • Financial awareness, • Problem-solving ability, • Community engagement Performance Expectations The successful candidate will: • Improve guest satisfaction scores, • Increase catering and delivery revenue, • Reduce labor and food cost variance, • Build strong local community partnerships, • Develop a well-trained and motivated team Compensation • Competitive salary (based on experience), • Performance-based bonuses, • Growth opportunities within the Russo’s brand About Russo’s Russo’s New York Pizzeria & Italian Kitchen is known for authentic New York-style pizza, fresh pasta, and traditional Italian cuisine made with high-quality ingredients.
