Job Summary Position: Field Service Engineer - The role involves providing field service, installation, and support for high-end CNC machine tools at customer sites. Engineers work independently in a regional territory, performing hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, installations, and customer support with moderate travel. Key Responsibilities • Conducting on-site service, maintenance, and repairs of CNC machines at customer facilities, • Installing new CNC equipment, verifying proper setup, leveling, and alignment, • Interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and carrying out fundamental electrical diagnostics (such as using a multimeter or wiring contactors/relays), • Replacing worn or damaged mechanical parts (e.g., knobs, fasteners, covers, and similar components), • Accurately documenting service visits, completing installation records, and submitting all required paperwork, • Offering remote technical assistance and phone-based support to customers when necessary, • Delivering hands-on machine training to help customers better understand and operate the equipment, • Organizing travel itineraries to customer locations and preparing/submitting weekly expense summaries, • Engaging in online training sessions and ongoing professional development to stay current, • Regional travel required, typically involving 6–7 overnight stays per month, • Hands-on experience servicing or maintaining CNC machine tools (milling centers, lathes, or similar machining equipment); prior work with Fanuc controls is highly desirable, • Solid mechanical skills and comfort using a wide range of hand tools, • Capability to understand electrical drawings and perform entry-level electrical fault-finding (multimeter usage, relay wiring, etc.), • High school diploma, vocational/technical training, or comparable real-world experience, • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving history, • Self-starter who can operate effectively with little direct oversight, • Ready and able to travel within the assigned region, including trip planning and territory navigation, • Dependable, trustworthy individual with strong teamwork skills and a consistently positive demeanor, • Practical experience working directly with Fanuc controls, • Base salary: $90,000 – $105,000, • Potential total compensation: Up to $120,000 including overtime, • Overtime: Paid for hours over 40 per week (salary guaranteed even if 40 hours completed early in the week), • Per diem: $50 per day for overnight travel, • Mileage reimbursement, • Hotel arrangements can be handled by the company or employee, • No non-compete agreements required, • Based in the Philadelphia area, Western New Jersey, or Eastern Pennsylvania, • Covers travel throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Long Island, and Southern New York, • No requirement to live in downtown Philadelphia; general regional proximity is sufficient
