Job Description POSITION SUMMARY The Facilities Technician 3 serves as a senior member of the Facilities team, providing advanced technical support, leadership, and stewardship of the Regents campus. This role ensures that campus buildings, grounds, and systems are safe, functional, and welcoming, while reflecting the school's Christian mission and values. The position requires independent judgment, advanced troubleshooting skills, and the ability to lead complex maintenance tasks while supporting and mentoring other facilities staff. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Facilities & Maintenance Operations * Perform routine and advanced building maintenance and repairs, including plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and mechanical systems. * Inspect buildings, grounds, playgrounds, and campus systems; proactively identify issues and complete repairs or coordinate specialized service. * Troubleshoot and resolve complex maintenance issues requiring advanced technical knowledge and independent problem-solving. * Ensure all work complies with safety standards, applicable codes, and school policies. Campus Operations & Event Support * Set up and break down rooms, furniture, and equipment for meetings, events, and school activities. * Assemble, move, repair, and maintain furniture, fixtures, and equipment across campus. * Support daily campus operations to ensure facilities are prepared and functional for students, staff, and visitors. Leadership & Team Support * Serve as a lead technician on assigned projects and daily operations. * Provide guidance, mentorship, and oversight to junior technicians, temporary staff, and contracted labor. * Assist with training team members on equipment use, safety procedures, and maintenance best practices. * Communicate project status, concerns, and recommendations to the Director of Facilities. Equipment & Grounds * Safely operate, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment including riding lawn mowers, tractors, lifts, power tools, and pressure washers. * Perform and support grounds maintenance as needed to ensure a safe and well-kept campus environment. Security & Safety * Assist with campus security needs, including opening and closing buildings and gates. * Respond to urgent facilities-related safety concerns and report issues promptly. * Support emergency procedures and after-hours needs as directed. Work Order & Systems Management * Manage, prioritize, and complete work orders efficiently using facilities management software. * Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs. * Recommend improvements to systems, preventive maintenance plans, and operational processes. General Duties * Perform cleaning or janitorial tasks as needed to support campus operations. * Perform or assist with the cleanup of spills, leaks, and limited biohazard incidents (such as bodily fluids), using appropriate safety protocols, training, and personal protective equipment. * Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities. WORKING CONDITIONS & SCHEDULE * Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday during standard business hours; however, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional after-hours work will be required to support campus operations, events, or emergency needs. * This position requires regular work both indoors and outdoors and in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and other environmental elements. * Work may involve exposure to noise, dust, cleaning chemicals, bodily fluids, and other conditions commonly associated with facilities and maintenance operations. * The role requires standing, walking, bending, climbing, lifting, and performing physical tasks for extended periods and in a variety of environmental conditions. Education & Experience * High school diploma or GED required. * Minimum of 5 years of facilities, maintenance, or related trade experience, preferably in a school, commercial, or institutional setting. * Demonstrated ability to perform advanced maintenance tasks independently. Technical & Physical Skills * Proficiency in general building systems, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and HVAC fundamentals and associated software. * Ability to read and interpret preventive maintenance plans, safety rules, diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals. * Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. * Ability to safely lift up to 60 lbs and perform physical work in indoor and outdoor environments. Leadership & Professional Skills * Demonstrated ability to lead tasks, mentor others, and work collaboratively as part of a facilities team. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and exercise sound judgment. * Dependable, professional, and respectful in all interactions. * Reachable by cell phone during work hours. Licensing & Technology * Valid Texas Driver's License; ability to operate cars, trucks, and non-commercial vans. * Proficiency with computers and facilities-related software, including work order systems, email, and basic reporting tools.
