Job DescriptionDescription: West Coast Trial Lawyers is a leading California firm handling both Employment and Personal Injury matters. Our Employment Department represents workers in wage-and-hour disputes, discrimination and harassment cases, wrongful termination, and other workplace violations. We bring a client-focused, litigation-driven approach and are expanding our team to support the growing demand in employment law. We're seeking a Pre-Litigation Employment Attorney to join our Employment Department. This role is ideal for attorneys with strong analytical, negotiation, and client-management skills, whether early in their career or bringing deeper experience to the team. This is a strictly pre-litigation role focused on evaluating claims, drafting demands, negotiating settlements, and providing exceptional client service. This role is based in our Los Angeles office and operates on a hybrid schedule. Please note that this position is not eligible for fully remote work. Key Responsibilities • Manage dynamic case load of prelitigation cases, from intake though prelitigation settlement, • Analyze case facts to assess liability, damages, and claim value, • Draft detailed demand letters and review personnel files, pay records, and client documentation, • Collaborate closely with Intake, Case Management, Demands/Negotiation, and Liens teams, • Strategize the strongest possible pre-litigation posture for each case, • Negotiate settlements with employers and opposing counsel, • Maintain consistent communication with clients to provide updates and guidance, • Ensure all case notes, evaluations, and negotiations are documented clearly and accurately Requirements:, • 1-10 years of experience, in employment law (pre-litigation, intake, demand, or negotiation experience is a plus), • Strong understanding of California and employment laws (wage & hour, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, harassment), • Active member of the California State Bar in good standing, • Excellent negotiation, writing, and analytical skills, • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, • Strong client communication and interpersonal skills, • Ability to work independently while collaborating with internal teams Salary Range: $80,000 - $150,000, depending on experience Note: We are open to candidates across multiple experience levels, including newly licensed and newly sworn-in attorneys who demonstrate strong analytical skills, professionalism, and a desire to grow within employment law.
