Job Description Family Law Paralegal (High-Level Case Management Role) This Is Not a Basic Support Role — It’s a High-Level Case Management Role EXPERIENCED Family Law Paralegal to work on site in Miami Lakes Costa & Associates is a growing boutique law firm in Miami Lakes focused exclusively on family law and transactional real estate. We are seeking an exceptional Florida Family Law Litigation Paralegal who has already demonstrated the ability to independently manage the progression of Florida family law cases from initial filing through final judgment while working closely with the supervising attorney. This position is not designed for someone looking to learn family law or develop basic litigation skills. Compensation & Benefits • Competitive Base Salary: $70,000 – $99,000 yearly (based on experience, capability, and overall fit for the position), • Performance Bonuses: Based on effectiveness, organization, and overall contribution, • Paid Time Off: After 120 days, • 8 paid firm holidays, • 8 paid vacation days annually, with partial availability during the first year & an additional day added yearly thereafter, • Contribution toward health insurance after 120 daysCompensation: $70,000 - $99,000 yearly Responsibilities: What You’ll Do • Independently manage the day-to-day progression of an assigned caseload of Florida family law matters from initial filing through final judgment while working closely with the supervising attorney., • Take ownership of all court deadlines and internal deadlines, identifying issues before they become problems, and ensuring matters continue moving forward efficiently., • Draft, review, and finalize pleadings, motions, notices, discovery, financial affidavits, parenting plans, marital settlement agreements, and other family law documents for attorney review., • Analyze (not gather) financial records, supporting documentation, and disclosures to identify inconsistencies, organize information, and assist attorneys in case preparation and strategy., • Coordinate hearings, mediations, discovery, court filings, and case deadlines while maintaining organized, complete, and court-ready files., • Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, opposing counsel, judicial assistants, court personnel, and third parties., • Keep attorneys informed of important developments, potential issues, upcoming deadlines, and recommended solutions, not simply the existence of problems., • Deliver an exceptional client experience by maintaining proactive communication, professionalism, compassion, and responsiveness throughout the life of each case., • Contribute to the continued improvement of our systems, procedures, and overall case management processes through initiative, accountability, and thoughtful problem-solving. Qualifications: What You Bring • Demonstrated experience independently managing a substantial caseload of Florida family law matters from initial filing through final judgment while working closely with the supervising attorney., • Strong working knowledge of Florida Family Law Rules of Procedure, court filing requirements, discovery, motion practice, mediation, and case progression., • Proven ability to independently prioritize and manage multiple active cases while consistently meeting deadlines and maintaining exceptional attention to detail., • Experience preparing and reviewing pleadings, motions, financial affidavits, discovery, parenting plans, marital settlement agreements, and other family law documents for attorney review., • Strong analytical skills with the ability to review financial records, identify inconsistencies, and assist in case preparation and strategy., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the professionalism to effectively interact with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and colleagues. Sound judgment, accountability, initiative, and the ability to solve problems while keeping attorneys informed and cases moving forward. • Commitment to professionalism, teamwork, and delivering an exceptional client experience., • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred but not required.
