Job DescriptionJob Title: Team Lead – Quality (Shipping, Receiving & Inventory) Job Description The Team Lead – Quality (Shipping, Receiving & Inventory) oversees the complete lifecycle of outbound and inbound materials, ensuring accurate order fulfillment, efficient receipt of goods, and precise inventory control. This role leads day-to-day shipping, receiving, and inventory activities, maintaining high quality standards, documentation accuracy, and system integrity. The position plays a key role in keeping warehouse operations running smoothly, supporting small, collaborative teams, and upholding reliable inventory accuracy. Responsibilities • Lead daily shipping, receiving, and inventory control activities to support smooth warehouse operations and high service levels., • Pick, pack, and stage outbound orders according to sales orders and shipping schedules, ensuring accuracy and timeliness., • Verify item accuracy, quantities, serial numbers, and required documentation prior to shipment to maintain quality standards., • Generate shipping labels, packing slips, and Bills of Lading (BOLs) using warehouse systems and carrier portals., • Coordinate daily carrier pickups, including parcel and freight carriers, to ensure on-time shipments., • Ensure proper packaging and labeling of all outbound orders to prevent damage during transit and support error-free deliveries., • Receive inbound shipments from suppliers and internal transfers, confirming receipt in a timely and organized manner., • Verify incoming quantities, part numbers, serial numbers, and condition against purchase orders and packing slips., • Accurately record receipts, shipment updates, and inventory movements in ERP and WMS systems in real time., • Label, barcode, and put away inventory into designated storage locations, maintaining clear organization and traceability., • Perform regular cycle counts and stock adjustments, and support periodic physical inventory counts to uphold inventory integrity., • Maintain clean, organized, and clearly labeled shipping, receiving, and inventory storage areas to support safety and efficiency., • Identify and promptly report discrepancies, damages, or inventory issues, and support corrective actions to prevent recurrence., • Use WMS and related software tools to manage inventory, generate documentation, and track shipments accurately., • Model attention to detail, ownership, and continuous improvement in all warehouse processes and encourage the same in team members.Essential Skills, • Experience in inventory control, shipping, and receiving within a warehouse or distribution environment., • Hands-on experience with picking, packing, and staging orders for outbound shipment., • Ability to receive and generate shipment labels and related shipping documentation., • Proficiency with warehouse management system (WMS) software for inventory and shipment transactions., • Strong organizational skills with a focus on documentation accuracy and attention to detail., • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work on your feet in a warehouse environment., • Basic computer literacy and comfort learning and using warehouse systems and tools., • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on environment while maintaining quality standards., • High school diploma or equivalent.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Prior warehouse, shipping, receiving, or inventory experience is preferred., • Experience with ERP systems for inventory and order management is an asset., • Familiarity with barcode scanners for tracking and managing inventory., • Experience working with shipping carrier portals for label generation and shipment processing., • Demonstrated ability to support or take a lead role in inventory control and warehouse organization., • Interest in continuous improvement and process optimization within warehouse operations.Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a fast-paced, hands-on warehouse environment on a first-shift schedule. You will spend most of the day on your feet handling materials, operating within shipping, receiving, and inventory storage areas. The work involves regular use of ERP and WMS systems, barcode scanners, and shipping carrier tools, along with physical tasks such as lifting up to 70 lbs and moving products throughout the facility. The workspace is organized, clearly labeled, and focused on safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chattanooga, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
