This position involves overseeing nursing staff during assigned shifts, coordinating patient care activities, and serving as a clinical resource to the team. The Charge Nurse is responsible for maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies while promoting a safe and therapeutic environment for patients. This role requires effective communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and support staff development. Ultimately, the Charge Nurse ensures that nursing operations run smoothly and efficiently during their shift, contributing to overall patient satisfaction and care excellence. Minimum Qualifications: • Current and valid Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas., • Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in an acute care or long-term care setting., • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification., • Strong knowledge of nursing principles, patient care standards, and healthcare regulations., • Previous experience in a charge nurse or leadership role., • Advanced certifications such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)., • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems., • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills., • Supervise and coordinate nursing staff activities during assigned shifts to ensure efficient and effective patient care delivery., • Assess patient conditions, develop and implement nursing care plans, and monitor patient progress., • Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to nursing staff, providing guidance and support as needed., • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, facility policies, and safety standards., • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate comprehensive patient care., • Manage patient admissions, discharges, and transfers in coordination with the healthcare team., • Document nursing care and patient information accurately and timely in electronic health records., • Respond promptly to patient emergencies and coordinate appropriate interventions. The Charge Nurse utilizes clinical expertise and leadership skills daily to coordinate patient care and guide nursing staff effectively. Strong communication skills are essential for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and providing clear instructions during critical situations. Organizational skills enable the Charge Nurse to manage multiple priorities, including patient assessments, documentation, and staff coordination. Problem-solving abilities are applied to address patient care challenges and operational issues promptly.
