POSITION PURPOSE Responsible for fabrication and assembly of new machines and repaired parts and equipment designed and built to NY Engineering department. Ensures proper function of equipment and parts when released to Production department. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES • Fabrication and assembly of fixtures and components for our packaging and related equipment., • Supports and assists Production department with technical expertise., • Responsible for repair and maintenance of production machine parts on an as required basis., • Assists Production and Maintenance departments with repair of equipment., • Makes necessary repairs to damaged or worn production equipment parts., • Continually seeks improvements in the fabrication process as well as the production machinery., • Supports a regular and consistent clean-up time on a weekly basis., • Supports Liquid dept. and Warehouse with repair to damaged equipment. PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS • The ability to work with blueprints, • Knowledge of CNC machine operation., • Knowledge of feature cam., • To assemble machinery and machine components., • Knowledge to use all of the machine shop tools to complete parts for fabrication. QUALIFICATIONS • To perform his function with minimal supervision from the engineering manager and mechanical engineer. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: • Trade School Diploma REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: • Basic math skills, • Bearing fitting and blue print reading, • Welding, drilling & tapping, • Setup and drawing using feature cam of CNC milling machines, • Setup and operation of CNC lathe, • Setup and operation of conventional lathe, • Setup and operation of conventional Milling machine, • Surface grinders, • Cutting & bending sheet metal, • Torque settings of various fasteners, • Shop safety, • 5 years’ experience in parts fabrication, assemble, of machinery and parts using all the aforementioned equipment. Working within a food production/commissary kitchen that produces over 1,000 ready to eat meals a day. PM 8hr shifts available between the hours of: 3pm-11pm What You’ll Do: • Wash and sanitize cooking equipment such as sheet pans, pots, mixing bowls, food processors, slicers, etc. (not just plates and utensils) within a high volume commissary kitchen, • Use a three-compartment sink, industrial washing machine and proper sanitation methods, • Follow detailed cleaning protocols for food manufacturing equipment, • Assist in daily and deep cleaning of our commissary kitchen facility, • Maintain safe, organized, and sanitized work areas per our Sanitation Policy, • Clean floors, walls, trash and restrooms as part of janitorial duties, • Support the culinary team by organizing and replenishing smallware's, • Follow all safety, hygiene, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards What We’re Looking For: • Experience in food manufacturing or high-volume production kitchens (Required), • Skilled in cleaning large-scale cooking equipment, not just dishes or flatware, • Comfortable working with industrial chemicals and around wet/slippery surfaces, • Familiar with commissary kitchen environments and shift cleaning schedules, • Able to work overnight shifts and carry 50+ lbs as needed, • NYC Food Handler’s license or willingness to obtain (Preferred), • Fully COVID-19 vaccinated and boosted, • Spanish/English bilingual is a plus
