Job Description Responsibilities: • Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical systems, including engines (inboard, outboard, and diesel), equipment, pumps, hydraulics, and steering systems., • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components such as wiring, batteries, alternators, starters, lighting, gauges, navigation equipment, and switchboards., • Conduct routine maintenance and performance checks on engines and onboard systems., • Test and calibrate marine electrical and electronic systems for functionality and safety compliance., • Troubleshoot and repair electrical components associated with HVAC, bilge, firefighting and fuel systems, as required., • Read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics., • Perform preventive maintenance and maintain service logs/documentation., • Adhere to safety procedures, environmental regulations, and industry standards., • Assist in emergency repairs and respond to urgent mechanical/electrical failures., • Collaborate with other technicians, crew, and management to ensure vessel readiness.Required Education, Skills, & Work Experience:, • High school diploma or technical school certificate required; additional marine technology or electrical training preferred., • 3+ years of experience as a marine mechanic or electrician (commercial or recreational vessels)., • Strong knowledge of marine propulsion systems, AC/DC electrical systems, and diagnostics., • Proficient with hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and electrical testing instruments., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and service manuals., • Knowledge of United States Coast Guard (USCG), ABYC, or other relevant marine standards., • Strong troubleshooting skills with attention to detail., • Ability to work independently and in team settings., • Physical ability to work in confined spaces, lift heavy components, and perform hands-on repairs., • Other related duties as assigned or directed. Working Conditions: Indoor/outdoor marine equipment environment and on board a vessel.
