Job Description Job Title: Structural Fitter Job Description The Structural/Fabrication Fitter is responsible for executing comprehensive structural and fabrication fitting tasks, which encompass the layout, positioning, aligning, and joining of structural metal products in preparation for welding. Responsibilities • Review blueprints, schematic drawings, and job specifications to determine work requirements., • Prepare material take-offs based on isometric and orthographic drawings., • Measure and fabricate structural components in compliance with applicable codes and standards., • Perform all phases of advanced installation, positioning, alignment, and fitting of structural components., • Bolt, clamp, and tack parts to secure them in position for welding., • Dismantle, straighten, and reshape parts using handheld torches and other tools., • Maintain records of work orders and materials used., • Prepare reports and conduct inspections as required., • Previous structural fitting/fabrication experience., • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints., • Basic experience with a hand torch., • Experience with fitting or layout is required., • High School Diploma or GED required., • Previous welding experience is helpful (flux core/stick preferred). Work Environment Fitters will work outdoors in a shop covered by sheet metal. The environment can be loud and dirty at times. First shift hours are from 6 am to 3 pm, and the second shift runs from Monday to Thursday, 3:30 pm to 12 am, and Friday, 2 pm to 10 pm, with optional Saturday overtime. The location is off Prospect Rd./Dixie Highway in Fort Lauderdale. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oakland Park, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
