Job DescriptionSalary: $43 - $53 per hour Georgia Harm Reduction Coalition Inc. is looking for a primary care Nurse Practitioner to provide diagnosis and treatment for HIV, HCV, and Sexually Transmitted diseases (STDs), women's health (annual exams and pap smears), and Suboxone treatment for Atlanta and surrounding areas. Thisposition requires up to 20 hours weekly in the office in collaboration with Emory University Schoolof Nursing. The Emory In Motion program aims to enhance nursing education for nurse-ledcollaborative care with vulnerable and underserved communities and strengthen thenursing workforce by expanding longitudinal experiential learning opportunities onmobile health units that improve health outcomes and achieve greater health equity forvulnerable and underserved communities across Georgia. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Obtains detailed history and develops patient care charts; performs physical examinations and evaluations on assigned patients; assesses and treats medical problems and provides direct patient care to a specified patient population., • Provides all clinical services to clients via clinic, telehealth, mobile units, and outreach settings., • Light travel is required to and from various community sites in and outside of Metro Atlanta in non-traditional clinical settings, which may include after-hours or weekends., • Participates in clinical precepting and evaluation of pre- and post-licensure nursing students., • Monitors the appropriateness of patient care and staff/student adherence to documentation standards., • Provides annual women's health screening, education, referrals, and follow-up for treatment as needed., • Provides Suboxone treatment and counseling to substance abuse patients in the office and via telehealth., • Educates and dispenses medication to patients from the onsite pharmacy., • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops., • Active participation in Emory In MOTION meetings and support for reporting activities, which will occur independently from the clinic and outreach activities., • Documents all services rendered during patient care, referrals, counseling, medications, and prescriptions according to the CDC requirements in the EHR accurate, comprehensive, and timely manner., • Collaborates with clinical partners and academic colleagues in developing and implementing the mobile health units' mission, vision, and goals., • Follows all HIPAA requirements to secure client information and maintain clients confidence by completing and safeguarding all medical records, keeping patient information confidential., • Follows OSHA guidelines relating to proper use of handling PPE, needles, bloodborne pathogens, and disposing of biohazardous materials., • Practice allsafety, environmental, and/or infection control methods., • Adheres to professional standards, organizational policies and procedures, and federal, state, and local requirements., • Performs emergency lifesaving procedures in cases such as cardiac arrest., • Notifies the attending physician on call or the supervising physician regarding any unusual or unexpected events or problems requiring direct physician consultation., • Strictly follow the organizations established APRN agreement protocol. Required Education and Experience: • Master's in Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, along with a valid Georgia License to practice., • 2+ years of qualified experience is preferred; or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position., • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Mandatory Reporting certifications, • Ability to adhere to OSHA regulations, federal, state, and local regulations. Required Skills & Abilities: • Computer literacy with strong knowledge of Google Drive and Microsoft Suite., • Excellent verbal and written communication skills., • Ability to work on call after the agencys hours of operation., • Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team and independently., • Promotes mutual respect and trust, working within a team model., • Possesses strong time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure while handling multiple projects., • Ability to work in a high-stress environment and interact with marginalized individuals and communities., • Ability to be flexible, resilient, and change-oriented., • Knowledge of the indications, contraindications, side effects, interactions and adverse reactions of pharmacologic agents and other relevant treatment modalities, • Ability to follow ethical principles regarding patient confidentiality, informed consent, and unanticipated adverse outcomes., • Displays respect for peers, supervisors, and clients.
