American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Float Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Wilmington, North Carolina. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Med Surg, • Discipline: RN, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, • Work in the Med/Surg Float Pool of a hospital environment, • Care for general med/surg patient population (no cardiac telemetry patients), • Assigned to a patient ratio of 1:6 during normal staffing, maximum ratio 1:7 during high census or critical staffing, • 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts, 18:45–07:15, • Required to work every other weekend, • Floating to all medical/surgical floors and possibly to affiliate hospitals as needed, • Self-scheduling according to unit needs, • Uses Pyxis, Epic, and SBAR systems, • 24 hours of unit orientation provided, • Required to wear navy and/or white scrubs, • Must be comfortable floating according to census and skill set without restrictions, • Module training must be completed pre-start and annually, with acute care roles requiring 8-10 hours, • RTO of up to 7 days is allowed, but not during orientation or holidays; additional time off requires facility approval, • Required to work at least 2 of the 3 major holidays during the contract, • No RTO is allowed after booking or to be worked out onsite; excessive calloffs may result in contract cancellation, • Candidates cannot work more than 5 days in a row or exceed 60 hours in a week, • Previous employees must wait 12 months before being considered for a traveler position, • Local candidates within 50 miles are accepted at a lower rate\n \n Requirements\n, • Active NC or compact RN license required at start (license pending at time of submission is accepted), • Minimum 2 years of recent med/surg RN experience, • First-time travelers are not accepted, • IV start and telemetry experience required, • Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification required, • ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred, • Epic charting experience required, • Must pass EKG testing prior to start, • Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 12 months preferred\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
