American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Wilmington, North Carolina. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry, • Discipline: RN, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, • Work on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting, • Care for adult medical/surgical patients with telemetry monitoring, • Patient ratio is typically 1:6-7, • Administers insulin and heparin infusions, • Uses Pyxis for medication dispensing, Epic for documentation, and SBAR for communication, • Night shift position (3x12 hours, 18:45-07:15), with options for 36 or 48 hours per week, • Requires working every other weekend and major holidays, • Floating to similar units at least once a week, including possible float to affiliated hospitals, • Assignment length is 13-26 weeks, • Staff may be assigned to Storm or Hurricane Team during emergencies, • Navy scrubs required, • Completion of 24-hour unit orientation is required, • Online and in-person modules must be completed prior to start and annually, • Must be comfortable floating with no restrictions or special requests, • Must report to work during catastrophic events or disasters as assigned, • No more than 7 days of requested time off permitted and not during major holidays or first week of assignment, • Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the contract period, • Travel pairs are accepted but must be on different units, • Fatigue policy prohibits more than 5 consecutive work days or 60 hours in one week, • Local candidates accepted\n \n Requirements\n, • Active NC or compact RN license required at start, • Minimum of 2 years Med/Surg experience required, • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, • Must pass EKG test specific to this specialty, • Epic charting experience required, • Must be able to administer insulin and heparin drips, • Must provide two professional references from a recent supervisor within the past 2 years, • Previous staff must wait 12 months before being considered for a traveler role\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
