Job Overview – Electrical Test Technician (Hanover, MD) As an Electrical Test Technician, you will perform hands‑on testing, troubleshooting, and inspection of electrical switchboards and power distribution systems before shipment. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in electrical testing, troubleshooting, or electrical maintenance. Key Responsibilities • Perform electrical testing on switchboards, switchgear, and power distribution panels, • Use diagnostic tools such as:, • Multimeters, • Hi-Pot testers (high potential testing), • Meggers (insulation resistance testing), • Verify wiring accuracy and ensure equipment meets quality and safety standards, • Troubleshoot electrical systems and report defects or inconsistencies, • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints, • Document test results and complete required reports, • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams, • Maintain testing equipment and follow OSHA and electrical safety guidelines, • Complete paid training during your first weekEquipment You’ll Work On, • Large commercial and industrial switchboards, • Power distribution systems used in:, • Hospitals, • Data centers, • Commercial buildings, • Industrial facilitiesMinimum Qualifications, • Associate degree in Electrical Technology OR equivalent hands-on experience, • 2+ years of experience in:, • Electrical testing, • Electrical troubleshooting, • Industrial or manufacturing electrical work, • Experience using multimeters, Meggers, Hi-Pot testers, or similar tools, • Ability to read electrical schematics and diagrams, • Understanding of electrical systems and safety procedures, • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processesPreferred Qualifications, • Experience with UL 891 switchboards or NEC (National Electrical Code), • NETA certification (or similar electrical testing certification), • Knowledge of NFPA 70E electrical safety standards, • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with moving larger equipmentWork Environment, • New, modern manufacturing facility in Hanover, MD, • 1st shift, • Fast-paced, hands-on electrical testing environment, • PPE provided (safety glasses, protective sleeves), • Requires:, • Steel-toe boots, • Long pants, • Standing/walking most of the day, • Indoor environment with variable temperaturesWhy Apply for This Electrical Technician Job?, • Strong opportunity for career growth in electrical engineering, quality, or leadership, • Gain experience with industrial power systems and switchgear, • Paid training + skill development, • Clean, organized facility with consistent workload Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
