Job Description About IBH Addiction Recovery IBH Addiction Recovery, founded in 1970, is a highly effective nonprofit organization and leading provider of drug and alcohol addiction treatment in Summit County. We provide evidence-based services including Residential Treatment, Day Treatment, Outpatient Programs, Aftercare support, and Recovery Housing, complemented by spiritual guidance, all intended to offer persons with alcohol and drug addiction, including those with a co-occurring mental health disorder, the opportunity to restore hope and gain skills for a lifetime of sobriety. We are seeking a highly motivated and solution-focused Receptionist to help us meet the individualized needs of people in recovery and uphold those values. Job Summary: The Receptionist provides administrative support to clients and staff to assure timely and appropriate access to the IBH Addiction Recovery continuum of care. The Receptionist will embody customer service by approaching all visitors and staff with a pleasant and welcoming demeanor. Essential Job Duties: • Performing reception duties including greeting visitors, answering, and routing calls, checking clients in and out, etc., • Maintaining a safe and clean reception area and working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations and adhering to infection-control policies and protocols., • Collecting copays and managing cash and receipts., • Maintaining client accounts by obtaining, recording, scanning, and updating personal demographic and financial information., • Scheduling appointments for clients., • Assisting with phone intakes and screening., • Assisting with phone interviews to collect and enter client demographic information., • Assisting with the completion of patient profiles using Credible software., • Manage client appointment reminder communications., • Monitoring the waiting room for appropriate behavior and intervening when necessary or seeking the assistance of the supervisor., • Completing office closing duties to ensure safety., • Maintaining compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations related to client privacy., • Ability to explain Client Statements., • Ability to explain insurance Explanation of Benefits., • Ability to work with a diverse range of service participants, including diversity of age, gender, gender identity, race, religion, sexual orientation, physical and mental ability, and more., • Ability to communicate IBH Addiction Recovery’s continuum of care to clients., • Ability to perform basic math computations, as well as fractions, decimals, and percentages in calculating sliding fees for client’s out-of-pocket responsibilities., • Knowledge of insurance products in which Agency is paneled., • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel, and electronic health records systems., • Must submit to a background check and drug screen, pre-employment and at random. Seek assistance when needed., • Professional Effectiveness – Maintain a professional role with persons in treatment, visitors, colleagues, and external agency officials. Problem Resolution Educational/Experience Requirements • High school diploma or GED., • Experience scheduling medical appointments and knowledge of health care billing (including deductibles, coinsurance, and copays) a plus., • CPR and First Aid certifications, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training preferred. Physical Demands Work will be performed in a range of professional, institutional, and community settings and involve some evening, weekend, and on-call hours. Considerable standing, sitting, and walking is required. Includes lifting, pushing, pulling of supplies/equipment up to 20 lbs. occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. frequently. Includes occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. Subject to environmental and outside conditions such as weather conditions. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and have a valid Driver’s License and Insurance. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work Monday through Thursday 3 – 7pm and flexible hours on Fridays, with potential for weekend or additional hours as needed by organization. Supervisory Responsibility None.
