About the Company We are currently partnered with a Private Equity–backed Management Services Organization (MSO) that operates a rapidly expanding healthcare platform with 100+ clinical locations across four states in the Southeast. The organization supports a broad provider network through centralized services, including finance, revenue cycle, HR, IT, compliance, and practice operations. With a strong acquisition pipeline and a scalable infrastructure built for high‑growth environments, the platform enables physicians to maintain clinical autonomy while benefiting from the efficiencies, resources, and strategic support of a sophisticated multi‑site healthcare enterprise. About the Role The Senior M&A Manager serves as the primary finance and accounting lead for all acquisition‑related activities within the organization. This role owns the end‑to‑end integration process for newly acquired physician practices, working cross‑functionally with finance, revenue cycle, HR, operations, and IT to ensure seamless onboarding onto the MSO’s infrastructure. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting fundamentals, M&A integration experience, and the ability to drive structured processes in a fast‑paced, scaling environment. Prior experience within Healthcare is preferred but not required. Responsibilities Due Diligence & Acquisition Readiness • Acts as the primary finance point of contact and lead for all pre‑acquisition due diligence., • Participates in management meetings and diligence calls to assess operational and financial risks within target practices., • Directs and supports third‑party diligence teams to ensure all relevant financial information is thoroughly captured, challenged, and evaluated., • Reviews Quality of Earnings (QoE) reports to identify and mitigate liabilities or risks that may transfer post‑acquisition., • Partners with cross‑functional leads to understand diligence findings and evaluate downstream impacts on accounting and finance operations. Operational Integration Management • Responsible for the full financial integration of newly acquired practices across all major workstreams within defined timelines, including:, • Onboarding - Leads acquisition kickoff meetings and onsite visits, conducts walkthroughs to identify internal control gaps, financial risks, optimization opportunities, and key operational considerations for successful integration., • Banking & Cash - Manages acquired bank accounts, credit cards, merchant systems, payment platforms, and cash sweep structures until they are fully transitioned. Leads the migration of all banking workflows into the MSO’s standard processes., • Purchasing & Payables - Oversees the setup of Concur and P‑card programs, vendor transitions, notifications, cancellation of legacy autopay/ACH arrangements, and alignment of inventory, purchasing, and refund procedures., • Payroll & HR - Partners with HR to understand payroll transition plans, identifies necessary accruals, and assesses financial impacts. Evaluates compensation harmonization for partner draws, quarterly payouts, bonus structures, and commission models, communicating changes to impacted staff as needed., • Accounting & Close - Creates transaction‑level revenue recognition reports from acquired EMR/PM systems, configures Intacct for new entities, maps historical financial data, and establishes standard month‑end close procedures. Records Opening Balance Sheets (OBS), reconciles pre‑acquisition transactions, finalizes closing statements, and transitions ownership to the operational accounting team. Works with leadership to analyze and explain post‑acquisition financial trends and variances. Financial Reporting, Analysis & Strategic Support • Supports the Data Analytics team with development of reporting from acquired EMR/PM systems to drive actionable insights., • Partners with external consultants on due diligence, valuation, audit support, tax issues, and special analysis projects., • Drives standardization, process improvement, and scalability across a multi‑state, multi‑site practice portfolio. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master’s degree preferred., • CPA strongly preferred., • 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or due diligence/transaction advisory; healthcare experience a plus., • Experience in PE‑backed environments or M&A integration strongly preferred., • Familiarity with EMR/PM systems such as AthenaOne, ModMed, eCW, Greenway, or CareCloud preferred., • Advanced Excel skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite., • Strong analytical, communication, and writing skills., • Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate across clinical, operational, and finance teams. Required Skills • Financial modeling experience, • Understanding of general accounting processes, • Experience evaluating internal controls, • Treasury/cash management experience, • Experience performing or supporting QoE analyses, • Familiarity with full lifecycle integration workstreams, • Knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle management, • Strong project management skills, • Ability to communicate financial concepts to non‑financial staff, • Comfort working in high‑growth, fast‑changing environments Preferred Skills • Experience in PE‑backed environments or M&A integration strongly preferred., • Familiarity with EMR/PM systems such as AthenaOne, ModMed, eCW, Greenway, or CareCloud preferred.
