Job Description Job Title: Commercial Hospital Painter This role focuses on providing professional commercial painting services within hospitals and healthcare facilities. You will apply high-quality coatings to improve the appearance of the building, increase surface durability, and enhance safety by creating smooth, easy-to-clean surfaces that withstand regular disinfection. Responsibilities • Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and filling cracks, holes, and imperfections in walls and other surfaces., • Perform paint preparation tasks, including masking, taping, and protecting surrounding areas, fixtures, and equipment with tarps and masking tape., • Apply paints, coatings, varnishes, and sealants using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment to achieve an even, professional finish., • Use spray guns, paint sprayers, and other commercial and industrial painting tools to complete large surface areas efficiently., • Carry out commercial and industrial painting on walls, ceilings, corridors, and rooms throughout the hospital environment., • Perform drywall work, including hanging, repairing, mudding, and spackling sheetrock to ensure surfaces are ready for painting., • Apply coatings and powder coat finishes as needed to meet facility standards for durability and cleanability., • Inspect painted and finished surfaces to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to project specifications., • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper handling, storage, and cleanup of paints, tools, and materials., • At least 2–3 years of experience in commercial painting., • Proficiency in surface preparation, including cleaning, sanding, and filling cracks and holes., • Hands-on experience with paint preparation, masking, and taping for commercial projects., • Ability to apply paint, varnishes, sealants, and coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment., • Experience with spray guns, paint sprayers, and other commercial or industrial painting tools., • Strong skills in mudding and spackling for wall and ceiling repair., • Experience with sheetrock repair and drywall work, including hanging and finishing., • Construction or related trades that support commercial painting tasks., • Ability to read, write, and speak English to follow instructions and communicate on the job., • Experience in industrial painting and applying industrial coatings., • Familiarity with powder coating processes and equipment., • Experience painting in healthcare or other sensitive, high-traffic environments., • Ability to use rollers, sprayers, and other painting tools efficiently on large surfaces., • Strong attention to detail to deliver clean lines, smooth finishes, and consistent coverage. Work Environment This position is based in a hospital and healthcare facility environment, working primarily indoors in clean, well-kept areas. The typical schedule runs from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with some flexibility in the exact schedule. Work involves painting rooms on each floor and the connecting corridors, often in occupied areas where patients, visitors, and staff are present. You will regularly use professional painting tools and equipment, including brushes, rollers, spray guns, paint sprayers, masking materials, and drywall tools such as mudding and spackling tools. The environment requires a neat, professional appearance and a customer service–oriented attitude while working around hospital personnel and the public. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Fort Worth, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
