Position Overview The Communications Coordinator will provide communications, capacity-building, and limited administrative support to program staff and the San Francisco HIV Frontline Organizing Group (SF HIV FOG). The position supports PRC’s retention and re-engagement efforts under San Francisco’s Getting to Zero initiative (GTZ) and contributes to communications and capacity-building activities through PRC’s Equal Access to Healthcare Program (EAHP). The Communications Coordinator will collaborate with development and program staff to develop outreach, training, and educational materials related to health care benefits systems, care sites, treatment, and healthcare navigation. The position also assists in the management of PRC’s social media and digital platforms, ensuring consistent messaging to diverse audiences. The Communications Coordinator works closely with the Managing Legal Director as well as program, development, and communications staff across the organization. Primary Duties and Responsibilities • Collaborate and build positive relationships with community stakeholders, program staff, and partner agencies on communications, outreach, and training related projects in support of PRC programs., • Assist with content creation, updates, and maintenance for PRC’s website, blogs, and social media platforms, as well as coordinate management of SF HIV FOG’s listserv and social media channels., • Coordinate the creation, distribution, and maintenance of print and electronic communications materials, including advertisements, resource guides, program flyers, training materials, and annual program reports., • Support program staff in preparing for workshops, trainings, guest speaker engagements, and related events, ensuring that messaging and materials are accurate, consistent, and aligned with PRC standards., • Lead efforts to market and promote trainings, workshops, and messaging campaigns through online, print, social-media, and other channels., • Provide communications and administrative support for training and networking events for San Francisco’s frontline HIV service providers and community stakeholders, including scheduling, outreach, registration support, and coordination with internal staff and vendors., • Support Program outreach efforts to community stakeholders and medical providers about changes to public benefits and health insurance options that may impact people living with HIV., • Collect, manage, and track training and outreach evaluation data., • Participate in PRC’s internal communications planning process and coordinate with agency-wide communications staff, as appropriate., • Work with program leadership to identify, evaluate, and refine messaging opportunities and communication channels to support program goals., • Assist with other projects as needed. Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree, in marketing, communications, English, journalism, or equivalent professional experience., • One (1) to two (2) years of experience in marketing, communications, media, public relations or related nonprofit or community-based outreach work., • Experience creating content for diverse audiences across multiple platforms, including print, digital, and social media., • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills., • Ability to maintain consistent messaging and visual standards across programs while adapting content for different audiences., • Demonstrated creativity, initiative, and problem-solving skills., • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team., • Strong organizational skills, with experience coordinating events, trainings, or outreach activities strongly preferred., • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (including Word, Excel, and Outlook) and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar design tools preferred. Experience managing or updating websites and social media platforms strongly preferred., • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and adapt to shifting priorities., • Basic familiarity with data tracking or evaluation tools (e.g. surveys, spreadsheets, or reporting platforms) preferred., • Ability to be sensitive to and work well with low-income individuals, people with psychiatric disabilities, people living with HIV/AIDS, people of color, active drug users, people with a history of homelessness or incarceration, and the LGBTQ+ community is essential., • Familiarity with mental health issues, HIV/AIDS, and state and federal systems and programs impacting healthcare access for people living with HIV, such as OA-HIPP, ADAP, SSI, SSDI, Covered California, Medicare and Medi-Cal, preferred., • Knowledge of harm reduction principles and their application in social services settings. This is a full-time, exempt position.
