General Manager - Pacific Honda Exempt Job Summary: The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of dealership operations, including sales, service, parts, and administrative functions. This role involves setting and executing strategic goals, managing staff, ensuring financial performance, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. The General Manager ensures that the dealership operates efficiently, complies with industry regulations, and achieves its business objectives. Essential Functions: • Lead and manage all dealership departments, including sales, service, parts, and administrative functions., • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve dealership goals and objectives., • Hire, train, and evaluate department managers and staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance., • Oversee the dealership’s financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting., • Analyze financial statements and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive profitability and identify areas for improvement., • Implement strategies to manage expenses, increase revenue, and achieve sales and profit targets., • Develop and execute sales strategies to drive vehicle sales and achieve sales targets., • Work with the marketing team to create and implement promotional campaigns and advertising strategies., • Monitor market trends and adjust sales and marketing strategies to stay competitive and meet customer demands., • Ensure exceptional customer service across all departments, addressing customer concerns and resolving issues promptly., • Implement and oversee customer satisfaction programs to enhance the overall customer experience., • Foster a customer-centric culture within the dealership to build long-term relationships and encourage repeat business., • Oversee daily dealership operations to ensure efficient processes and high standards of quality., • Implement and enforce policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and dealership standards., • Manage inventory levels and coordinate with service and parts departments to ensure timely availability and optimal vehicle preparation., • Provide leadership and support to department managers and staff, including conducting performance reviews and offering professional development opportunities., • Promote a positive work environment and encourage teamwork and collaboration among staff members., • Address and resolve employee issues, conflicts, and disciplinary matters in a fair and effective manner., • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and dealership policies., • Maintain a safe and secure work environment by implementing and enforcing safety protocols and procedures., • Stay informed about industry regulations and best practices to ensure the dealership remains compliant and competitive., • Represent the dealership in the community and industry events to enhance visibility and build relationships with customers, vendors, and partners., • Engage with local organizations and participate in community initiatives to promote the dealership and its offerings., • Regularly drive customer vehicles for test drives, demonstrations, or service-related needs, ensuring all safety and operational guidelines are followed., • Maintain satisfactory attendance, • Recruit, hire, and train department staff., • Oversee the daily workflow of the department., • Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Automotive Management, or a related field, • Experience managing a high-volume dealership., • Proven track record in the California automotive industry., • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in dealership General Management or Sales Management., • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record; required to have California driver's license within 30 days following date of hire., • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds., • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team., • Excellent financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis., • Proficient in using dealership management software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)., • Outstanding communication, negotiation, and customer service skills., • Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to make strategic decisions., • Outstanding organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail., • Robust time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines., • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills., • Comprehensive knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations., • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software., • Frequently stands, walks, sits; uses hands; frequently reaches with hands and arms; frequently talks and hears., • Occasionally climbs or balances; occasionally stoops, kneels, crouches, squats or crawls; occasionally lifts up to 15 pounds., • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer., • Work in both indoor and outdoor settings., • May involve exposure to varying weather conditions., • Dealership setting., • Typically sits at a desk or workstation., • Climate controlled., • Medical, Dental, & Vision Insurance, • Employer Paid Life Insurance, • Employer Paid AD&D, • 401k (with Employer match), • Generous Vacation Package, • Inter-Company Transfers and Promotion Opportunities, • Tenure recognition and awards, • Vehicle Purchase Discount Program, • Vehicle Service Discount Program, • Golf Benefits at Maderas Golf Club (subject to qualification) If you receive an offer of employment, it will be a conditional offer contingent on the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
