American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Seattle, Washington. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Labor and Delivery, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 01/12/2026, • Duration: 12 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, • Work in a high-volume, high-acuity Labor & Delivery unit within a hospital setting, • Covers all types of high-risk and high-volume L&D cases with an average of 500-600 deliveries per month, • 31 labor rooms and 4 operating rooms; average daily census of 15, • Care for midwifery clients, private OB patients, and cases requiring substance recovery support, • Required to float to Postpartum, Antepartum, and sister facilities providing Mother/Baby care, • Schedule consists of day shifts (3x12 hours), 7:00 to 19:30, with work every other weekend and holidays as needed, • Uses Epic EMR and electronic fetal monitoring equipment, • Not open to first-time travelers, • May be required to float to other facilities within the state as needed, • Functions include circulating, Baby Nurse duties during delivery, and immediate newborn care, • High-acuity procedures including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate administration, • Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines for safe patient care, • Holiday and weekend coverage is required according to unit needs, • Pre-approved time off considered on a case-by-case basis with minimal RTO preferred, • Returning perm staff from non-Swedish Providence facilities must wait at least 3 months before applying, • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility\n \n Requirements\n, • Active WA or compact RN license required, • 3-5 years of recent high-risk Labor & Delivery experience in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment, • Ability to function as Baby Nurse and circulate in L&D required, • Experience with newborn care including eyes, thighs, assessments, and administration of Vit K injections, • Current BLS and NRP certifications required, • Minimum of 2 current supervisory references covering at least 1 year in Labor & Delivery within the last 3 years, • Must provide proof of certifications and current Nursys verification, • Experience with Epic EMR required, • ACLS and AWHONN Advanced/Intermediate certifications preferred, • Candidates must pass a clinical review\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
