Job Description NICU Nurse Manager - Houston, TX Full-Time Leadership | Evening or Night Shift | $45.79-$60.09/Hour | Sign-On & Relocation Case-by-Case | Rotating Weekends & On-Call Overview Lead neonatal intensive care operations at a 420+ bed women's hospital in Houston, Texas, featuring a Level IV NICU providing the highest level of care for premature babies. This NICU Manager role offers evening shift (3PM-11PM) or night shift (11PM-7AM) with rotating weekends and on-call coverage at the state's premier facility dedicated to women's and children's health. The hospital delivers 800+ babies monthly (more than any other Texas hospital), cares for more multiple births than any regional facility, and operates the area's only March of Dimes NICU Family Support program. The facility offers comprehensive women's services including breast health, imaging, gynecology, minimally invasive surgery, infertility, obstetrics, high-risk pregnancy, and pediatrics. Responsibilities • Assist Director with all NICU department activities ensuring coordinated effort fulfilling responsibilities aligned with facility mission, vision, and values., • Coordinate department participation in performance improvement activities to ensure continuous quality improvement in neonatal care., • Ensure nursing care is based on nursing process and evaluate effectiveness on ongoing basis for Level IV NICU operations., • Provide clinical support to nursing staff caring for premature babies, multiple births, and high-acuity neonates., • Assist with planning, implementing, and evaluating care for patients in women's services and neonatal intensive care units., • Oversee NICU operations during evening or night shifts managing staffing, patient census, and clinical outcomes., • Collaborate with neonatologists, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize neonatal outcomes., • Support March of Dimes NICU Family Support program providing comprehensive family-centered care., • Monitor compliance with regulatory standards including Joint Commission, CMS, and state requirements for Level IV NICU operations., • Ensure appropriate staffing levels and clinical competencies to meet needs of high-volume delivery service and multiple births program., • Respond to on-call coverage for unit needs, emergent situations, and leadership escalations., • Foster culture of excellence in neonatal care supporting growing department and increased unit needs., • Participate in quality improvement initiatives focused on reducing neonatal complications and enhancing family experience.
