Job Description Construction Manager Company Overview Cyclyx International, LLC ("Cyclyx") is a pioneer in the plastic value chain, leveraging our proprietary technology to convert post-use plastic waste into high-quality feedstock for recycling. We provide customized solutions for brands and companies aiming to achieve their recycled content goals, actively supporting the development of a circular economy. Our state-of-the-art Circularity Center, currently under construction in Houston, TX, will be the first large scale facility in the United States, designed to process a diverse range of post-consumer, commercial, and industrial plastic waste. This innovative center will have the capacity to produce 300 million pounds of custom-formulated feedstock per year and convert it into ISCC-PLUS-certified feedstock suitable for mechanical and advanced recycling applications. Role Summary Cyclyx is seeking a seasoned and proactive Construction Manager to lead the field execution of complex capital projects in the recycling, manufacturing, and heavy industrial sectors. This position is responsible for coordinating all onsite construction activities, managing contractors, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and delivering projects on schedule and within budget. This includes the direct management and supervision of other construction related roles including quality assurance and warehousing/receiving. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in industrial facility construction - including process systems, utilities, equipment installation, structural work, electrical and controls field installation - and thrives in fast-paced, multidisciplinary environments. This role requires strong leadership, technical aptitude, and a collaborative approach to interface with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities 1. Field Execution & Site Coordination • Serve as the primary on-site representative for all construction activities across all disciplines and departments., • Coordinate day-to-day field operations, including contractor mobilization, logistics, laydown, and work sequencing., • Lead daily coordination meetings with contractors and field supervision., • Maintain a visible presence in the field to ensure safety, productivity, and quality., • Ability to see potential bottlenecks and risks before they turn into issues. 2. Contractor Oversight & Quality Assurance • Manage contractors and subcontractors to ensure work is completed in accordance with contract documents, specifications, and drawings., • Enforce adherence to site-specific safety protocols and OSHA regulations., • Review and validate daily reports, timesheets, submittals, and RFIs., • Monitor work progress, conduct field inspections, and address non-conformance issues., • Potential oversight of Quality Assurance staff or subcontractors., • Photo and report documentation at the required frequency dictated by the project. 3. Schedule & Budget Adherence • Track and report progress against the project schedule, flagging potential delays and driving recovery efforts., • Collaborate with project controls to support earned value tracking, cost forecasting, and change management., • Support the review and negotiation of change orders, claims, and contractor invoices., • Oversee contractor reporting for contracts requiring owner's sign off (T&M). 4. Issue Resolution & Commissioning Support • Lead field-level resolution of design conflicts, scope gaps, and unforeseen conditions., • Coordinate closely with engineering, procurement, and commissioning teams to facilitate system turnover., • Support the development and completion of punch lists and closeout documentation. 5. New Project Support • Development of project estimates and takeoffs for new upcoming projects, • CAPEX modeling support, with alternatives analysis., • 10+ years of construction management experience, ideally on capital projects ($10M–$200M) in the heavy industrial, manufacturing, or recycling sectors., • Demonstrated expertise managing multi-trade contractors and executing industrial process projects., • Deep familiarity with construction means and methods, including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines., • Strong knowledge of construction safety programs, QA/QC practices, and contract administration., • Proficient in field documentation platforms such as Procore, Autodesk Build, Bluebeam, or similar tools., • OSHA 30, PMP, or CM-Lean certification is preferred for this position. Candidates who have not yet obtained OSHA 30 certification must be willing to complete it as a requirement of employment., • Reports to: VP of Engineering, • Type: Salaried, Exempt; Full-time. Eligible for participation in the annual bonus program., • Work Hours: Flexible, but must be available 8:00-5:00, Monday to Friday. This position may involve extended hours during critical project phases., • Location: This role is based primarily at project sites (Houston, TX, and Fort Worth, TX). During periods between construction, this role will be based out of the Headquarters in The Woodlands, TX., • Work environment: Primarily office environment but may also work in an industrial environment at times where the use of PPE is required., • Travel: Travel of up to 25% per year including between facilities and vendor sites that is expected during peak construction windows.
