This position works with physicians, hospitals and out-patient surgery centers to bring together a medical team for surgery. The medical team includes the physician, a first assistant, an anesthesiologist and may include others as well. It also involves insurance benefit verification to ensure that the patient meets medical criteria and the entire team meet insurance requirements. In this position, the patient is guided through the process which includes obtaining medical clearance from primary care physicians and informing the patient of their financial responsibilities. The Surgery Coordinator serves as a point of contact with patients, facilities and clinical personnel and is responsible for maintaining multiple surgeons’ schedules. Responsible for the scheduling of all in office and outpatient surgeries for SWCWC. Interaction with surgeons, hospital and ambulatory surgery center staff, anesthesiologists, surgical assistants and insurance companies. Pay Range $17 - $20, starting pay dependent on relevant experience.
