Job Description The Quality and Food Safety Specialist ensures that all products meet company, customer, and regulatory standards for quality, consistency, and safety. Responsibilities Quality and Food Safety Compliance Monitor and verify compliance with Food Safety and Quality programs Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, FDA, USDA, and company standards and specifications. Participate in and support internal and external audits (regulatory, third-party, and customer). Maintain and update documentation and records required by the Food Safety and Quality Management Systems (FSQMS). Calibrate and maintain quality control and testing equipment. Conduct inspections across all production stages to ensure product consistency, appearance, and quality. Develop and maintain detailed inspection and test reports, identifying deviations or non-conformities. Develop workflows and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for product inspection and documentation. Proactively identify and report quality or compliance concerns with a sense of urgency. Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to resolve quality-related issues. Follow up with appropriate departments when deviations or mistakes are detected to ensure timely resolution. Train and support employees on food safety and Quality. Collaborate with R&D, production, and supply chain teams during new product development or process changes. Promote a culture of food safety and quality awareness across all departments. Perform other duties as assigned by management to support department goals. Qualifications 2+ years of experience in quality control and food safety within food manufacturing Hands-on experience with fresh produce inspection Working knowledge of food safety standards and quality control processes Comfortable with basic math skills: fractions, ratios, proportions Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and perform physical tasks on the production floor Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Familiarity with documentation and traceability systems Bilingual: English - Spanish
