Description The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design and development of electronic circuitry and systems, leveraging modern computer-based tools and laboratory instrumentation. The role may involve limited use of software and mechanical design skills. The Electrical Engineer works independently, mentors and leads multidisciplinary engineering teams, and collaborates with Engineering Management. * Design, develop, and evaluate electronic and electrical systems using sound engineering principles and tools like OrCAD schematic capture and PCB layout software. * Utilize advanced modeling and analysis tools to create product specifications, simulations, technical data packages, and verification procedures. * Provide engineering expertise to technical teams, supporting subsystem integration, manufacturing, test planning, and failure analysis. * Lead Environmental Qualification Testing, including: * Conducting Qual by Similarity analyses for EMI, lightning, and HIRF compliance. * Developing detailed test plans and coordinating approvals with certification authorities. * Managing third-party test labs for test execution, overseeing setups, and recording results. * Analyzing test reports and making recommendations based on findings. * Prepare supporting documentation in compliance with engineering standards and procedures. * Implement FPGA-based designs using VHDL and oversee functionality testing. * Lead troubleshooting and corrective actions for product performance and end-of-life components. Recommend design improvements for new and existing products. * Specify and design production test equipment for manufacturing processes. * Develop software, both embedded and application-based, to support product operation and testing. * Evaluate vendors and coordinate outsourced services to ensure quality and delivery. * Ensure adherence to engineering principles and company requirements for performance, cost, schedule, and quality. * Manage engineering projects, including design, development, testing, and quality assurance, for moderately complex systems. * Oversee and implement technology initiatives as assigned. * Travel as needed to fulfill responsibilities. Additional Skills & Qualifications -1+ years experience -1 years PC Board schematic and layout (everything from maintaining library to BOM to documentation) -1 Years leadership role (including directly managing schedules and resources) -Expert knowledge of FPGA designs (i.e. VHDL or Verilog) -RF Antenna work * FPGA expertise * Python scripting This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Miami, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
