Job Description The Senior Accounting Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of Frontier Door and Cabinet’s accounting function across manufacturing and construction business segments. This role manages a distributed team of offshore and onshore accounting professionals, ensures the accuracy and timeliness of the month-end close, and maintains high standards of financial reporting quality. The Senior Accounting Manager is primarily an operational and people leadership role focused on keeping the accounting function running smoothly, developing team members, supporting multistate tax and compliance coordination, and contributing to process improvement and automation initiatives directed by the Director of Finance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Accounting Operations & Close Management • Own and coordinate the full month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process; ensure all journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules are completed accurately and on time across the distributed accounting team., • Prepare and review accurate, timely financial statements and P&L reports in collaboration with the accounting team; analyze and document budget variances, month-over-month fluctuations, and trend analysis to provide leadership with clear, actionable financial insight., • Coordinate year-end close procedures including preparation of audit support schedules and deliverables for external CPA, insurance auditors, and other regulatory examiners., • Prepare and maintain debt schedules and borrowing base certificates; ensure covenant compliance calculations are accurate and submitted for final review on time., • Manage and develop offshore and onshore Senior Accountants; assign work, set deadlines, provide day-to-day coaching, and conduct performance reviews., • Oversee the Accounts Payable team’s daily operations; ensure invoices are processed accurately and vendor disbursements are made on time., • Coordinate multistate tax and compliance obligations managed by the onshore Senior Accountant; serve as the primary liaison between internal team members and external tax professionals to ensure accurate, timely filings across all applicable jurisdictions., • Monitor daily bank balances and cash position; ensure adequate liquidity and flag anomalies to leadership., • Oversee ACH, wire, and payment processes; support transition to ERP-to-bank automated payment feeds and maintain controls over payment authorization thresholds., • Oversee ERP system utilization across the GL, AP, and AR modules; ensure data integrity, proper configuration, and consistent use of system workflows by the accounting team; coordinate with IT and the ERP vendor on issues, updates, and process improvements., • Identify inefficiencies in day-to-day accounting workflows and escalate automation and improvement opportunities for review and prioritization., • Support special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned., • Work with Power BI financial dashboards and reporting outputs; communicate reporting needs and gaps to leadership., • Incorporate AI productivity tools — including Claude and Microsoft Copilot — into daily workflows to improve efficiency in documentation, variance write-ups, and routine tasks., • Follow and enforce established accounting policies and internal controls; escalate any gaps or exceptions for resolution., • Maintain the chart of accounts and ensure an orderly, audit-ready accounting filing system., • Manage OnBase AP approval workflow; review and approve disbursements within authorized limits and ensure documentation standards are maintained., • Support and coordinate external audit, insurance audit, and regulatory exam processes; prepare PBC schedules, organize supporting documentation, and serve as the primary accounting contact for auditors and examiners., • Support leadership with ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as assigned., • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or CMA a plus., • 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience including 3+ years in a supervisory or management role., • Prior experience in the construction and/or manufacturing industry strongly preferred; familiarity with job costing, WIP schedules, and project-based accounting a plus., • Experience working with or coordinating offshore or remote accounting team members preferred., • Solid working knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and accounting best practices., • Strong team manager — able to assign, review, and develop accounting staff across multiple locations and time zones., • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to meet recurring deadlines., • Clear and professional communicator; able to work effectively across teams, departments, and external partners., • Proactive problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset.
