Job Description Medical Director / Infectious Disease Physician Outpatient Healthcare Center & Wellness Clinic Locations: • Greater Austin, TX, • Greater Memphis, TN Work Setting: On-site only (no remote or hybrid) Position Overview We are seeking a Medical Director / Infectious Disease Physician (Family Practice or Internal Medicine background) to join a well-established outpatient wellness clinic. This role combines direct patient care with clinical leadership, supporting a diverse patient population in a collaborative, high-performing setting. Physicians in this role deliver comprehensive primary and infectious disease care while supervising mid-level providers and contributing to clinic operations and patient retention initiatives. Key Responsibilities • Provide high-quality outpatient care while meeting productivity standards, • Minimum 14 patients per 8-hour shift (7 per half day), • Adjusted targets for extended shifts, • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions, including:, • HIV and STIs, • Hypertension, diabetes, asthma, COPD, hyperlipidemia, • UTIs, respiratory illnesses, infections, minor injuries, • Manage patient schedules to minimize no-shows and support retention, • Complete clinical documentation same day or within 72 hours, including accurate E&M coding, • Review labs, imaging, and consultant reports in a timely manner, • Process prescription renewals within 72 hours, • Respond to patient voicemails and emails daily, • Supervise and support PAs and NPs, including required chart reviews, • Participate in after-hours on-call coverage as assigned, • Maintain AAHIVM certification (required within 18 months of hire) Qualifications • MD or DO with an active, state-specific medical license, • Infectious Disease physician experience required, • Valid DEA registration and Furnishing License, • Prior outpatient primary care experience strongly preferred, • Comfortable managing 14–18 patients per day in a supported clinic setting, • AAHIVM Certification required within 18 months of start date, • Current CPR/BLS certification, • Experience in Supervising and supporting PAs and NPs, including required chart reviews Education & Skills • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), • Board certification preferred, • Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic reasoning, • Excellent communication skills with patients and care teams, • Highly organized with a focus on timely documentation and follow-up Compensation & Benefits • Base Salary: $290,000 – $320,000, • Total Compensation Potential:, • ~$314,000 (15 patients/day), • Up to ~$464,000 (20 patients/day), • Compensation Includes:, • Base salary, • Sign-on bonus, • Quarterly performance bonuses, • Patient-visit productivity bonuses (paid bi-weekly), • Retention bonus, • 401(k) with employer contribution, • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits, • 100% outpatient care, • No nights or weekends, • Fully staffed, mission-driven clinic environment, • Strong operational and clinical support, • Multi-billion-dollar healthcare organization with long-term stability
