Job Description ABOUT THE POSITION Children’s Services of Roxbury’s Family-Based Childcare System in Worcester is delivered by individual educators in their homes and serves approximately 200 children daily across a culturally diverse provider network. The Priority Program Case Worker supports a minimum caseload of 35 families and their children, coordinating comprehensive early childcare and child-protection services. The role collaborates closely with the Priority Program Social Worker, Program Director, community partners, and CSR providers to address needs related to mental health, immigration, substance use, homelessness, unemployment, parenting skills, education, disabilities, and abuse/neglect. The Case Worker ensures timely documentation, effective advocacy, and family-centered, culturally responsive support. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Partner with the Priority Program Social Worker, Program Director, and community providers to coordinate services for assigned families., • Manage a caseload of at least 35 families; complete assessments, develop action plans, implement referrals, and monitor progress., • Advocate for families across domains (mental health, immigration, substance use, housing, employment, parenting, education, disabilities, abuse/neglect)., • Maintain accurate records and documentation; complete reports and data entry on time per program and regulatory standards., • Collaborate with collaterals (schools, health/mental health providers, social services) to ensure coordinated, family-centered services., • Communicate consistently with families and providers; model professionalism, confidentiality, and cultural humility., • Meet DEEC and agency expectations for quality, safety, and compliance; participate in supervision, team meetings, and required trainings., • Support CSR’s goals for high-quality, home-based early education environments across the Worcester network. REQUIREMENTS Must-Haves • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services preferred; or Associate’s in Early Childhood & Development and a minimum of 5 years of early childhood education/child care experience., • Meets DEEC Lead Teacher qualifications., • Strong communication skills (listening, speaking, advocacy) and excellent writing/documentation., • Effective time management and organization; ability to handle multiple cases at different stages., • Ability to collaborate with collaterals, coworkers, and CSR staff; maintain objectivity and confidentiality under pressure., • Proactive, persistent, and solutions-oriented approach; strong problem-solving skills., • Compassion and respect for families navigating difficult situations. Nice-to-Haves • Bilingual ability (English/Spanish)., • Experience in Worcester-area community networks and resources., • Familiarity with Virtual Gateway/ETO or similar data systems. WORK SCHEDULE • Typically Monday–Friday, 8 hours/day; schedule may fluctuate based on program events and family needs (flexibility required).
