Eligible for Early Intervention Specialist certification. Maintains current driver’s license. Maintains professional license when applicable to profession. SUPERVISION: Each Staff member will receive supervision appropriate to the staff member's skills and level of professional development. Supervision will occur within the context of a formalized relationship that provides frequent and regularly scheduled individual or group personal contact with the supervisor. Reports to Clinical Coordinator and Program Director. PROFESSIONAL STAFF ROLES: Group Management/Supervision: • Strong knowledge base in the areas of early childhood development and developmental disability., • Participates in the development of developmentally appropriate curriculum ensures that such curriculum is carried out in all classrooms/groups., • Facilitates the organization and maintenance/cleaning of classroom space and insuring the availabilities of developmentally appropriate materials. Ensures updating and upkeep of bulletin boards., • Submits request to purchase supplies, equipment, and inventories group materials., • Oversees registration/referral process to group, including reviewing outcomes and facilitating a good match between outcomes and group experiences offered. Communicates with service coordinators as required., • Coordinates/Updates IFSP service grid for children enrolled or to be enrolled in EI groups., • Service Coordinate clients and provide home/community visits as needed., • Oversees transportation of children and parents to groups, coordinate with the Department of Public Health and the contracted transportation company., • Regularly hold EI group team meetings., • Provide consistent and ongoing supervision to classroom assistants, frequency being determined by level of experience and expertise of the assistant., • Participates in orientation of new staff members., • Works with team to improve ability to give and receive feedback. Works with team member when in conflict., • Works with team to develop sense of cohesion, teamwork, and team support., • Assists team members around group time management, documentation, billing, and scheduling., • Communicate consistently and regularly with group and program staff, service coordinators, clinical coordinator, and Program Director regarding development of new groups, and group enrollment. Convenes case conferences when appropriate., • Participate in all aspects of the group experiences (e.g., planning, set-up, facilitating, clean-up and processing). Staffing groups may be as regularly scheduled staff as a substitute for other group staff members., • Coordinates group staffing including students, volunteers, consultants and specialty providers., • Arrange for supervision of students and volunteers as necessary. Substitute or arrange for group coverage as needed., • Communicates/distributes relevant information (announcements, scheduling changes, surveys) to all group families in a timely manner. Maintains positive communication with families., • Ensures that required DPH and OCCS information is up-to-date and maintained in children’s files., • Meet productivity expectation., • Other duties as required. Management Team: • Participates in the development and implementation of policy and procedures as needed., • Oversees emergency drills., • Attends and participates in team meetings, raising issues of concern and participating in problem solving. Facilitates/cooperates in meeting process, keeping to the agenda and timeframe., • Participates in the interviewing/hiring process when applicable., • Maintain an understanding and appreciation for the “Big Picture” and managing the balance with the day-to-day realities., • Use computer/technology to organize, schedule and communicate. Consultation/Collaboration/Outreach: • Participates in the development of “Natural Environment” opportunities, and the medical/social service system., • Has knowledge of/and the ability to access community resources., • Participates in the development and implementation of Outreach activities, focusing on specific target populations., • Participates in offering presentations/workshops to the community providers, parents, staff., • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Professionalism: • Attend and participate in all staff meetings, in-services, and team meetings., • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries; promote client confidentiality; and exhibit flexibility, and teamwork., • Demonstrates sensitivity to/awareness of the diversity of families and staff (cultural, economic, educational, language)., • Communicate relevant information with supervisors and coworkers regarding daily work, schedule, and families., • Maintain a positive approach by respecting and valuing contributions of coworkers, contributing input focused on improvement of the program, and willingness to participate in special projects and initiatives., • Accept feedback on performance, appropriately handle differences of opinion, and communicate directly with others., • Meet expected documentation timelines, be prompt for meetings and follow through on commitments in a timely manner., • Exhibits strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently, managing to be flexible and creative when necessary., • Current driver’s license and reliable transportation., • Bilingual/Bicultural a plus., • CPR/First Aid required. Note: Full-time position 40hrs/wk (Monday to Friday)
