Job DescriptionJob Title: Construction Project Manager – Capital Programs & Site ReadinessJob Description This role leads a complex portfolio of capital projects focused on manufacturing expansion, infrastructure development, new product commercialization, and overall operational growth. The Construction Project Manager for Capital Programs & Site Readiness drives the planning, execution, and integration of multiple concurrent projects, ensuring delivery in line with business priorities, engineering standards, production readiness requirements, and long-term operational strategy. Acting as a key cross-functional leader, this position enables successful project delivery and a seamless transition from capital execution to stable, sustainable site operations. Responsibilities • Lead and manage a portfolio of concurrent capital projects related to site expansion, product commercialization, and infrastructure improvements, ranging from approximately $500K to $50MM+ in scope., • Own overall project execution for capital programs, setting priorities, sequencing work, and aligning resources across the portfolio to meet strategic business objectives., • Ensure all projects comply with applicable safety, environmental, regulatory, quality, and engineering standards throughout planning, construction, and commissioning phases., • Drive site readiness by aligning project delivery with production requirements, ensuring facilities, equipment, and processes are prepared for new products and capacity expansions., • Integrate project activities across Engineering, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain to support smooth startup and reliable ongoing operations., • Define and oversee commissioning, qualification, startup, training, spare parts provisioning, maintenance planning, SOP development, staffing readiness, and operational handoff activities., • Ensure a successful transition from project completion to stable operations, minimizing disruption to production and maximizing asset reliability., • Lead and influence cross-functional teams as the central coordination point across internal stakeholders and external partners, even without direct reporting authority., • Resolve conflicts, remove barriers to execution, and facilitate effective collaboration among project teams, contractors, and vendors., • Provide execution oversight to project managers, contractors, and vendors, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with approved scope., • Drive proactive risk identification and mitigation, implementing project controls to manage schedule, cost, and quality risks across the capital portfolio., • Manage capital budgets, forecasts, cash flow, change controls, and cost-to-complete reporting for assigned programs, maintaining transparency and financial discipline., • Support development of capital plans, project charters, business cases, and budget estimates that align investments with operational strategy and reliability goals., • Contribute to capital investment prioritization recommendations to ensure projects support long-term site capabilities and strategic growth., • Ensure capital projects are consistent with engineering standards and the technical capabilities of existing and new sites, including expansion at the Orangeburg site and the newly acquired site in Tappan, NY., • Oversee performance of external partners including contractors, consultants, and equipment suppliers, holding them accountable to safety, quality, schedule, and cost expectations., • Maintain effective communication and alignment with leadership and key stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and performance metrics., • Monitor and drive performance against key measures such as on-time delivery of the capital project portfolio, successful production readiness for new products and capacity expansions, effective cross-functional alignment and execution, and reduction in project-related delays and costs., • Coordinate multi-year project timelines and milestones, ensuring construction project management activities are fully integrated with engineering, manufacturing, and operational plans.Essential Skills, • At least 10 years of progressive experience in engineering, capital projects, manufacturing operations, facilities, or project/program management, including leading site expansion, infrastructure, or capacity growth projects., • Strong knowledge of capital project portfolio management and engineering project execution in complex manufacturing or industrial environments., • Demonstrated expertise in project management, including project controls, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, vendor management, and capital governance processes., • Proven ability to manage construction projects, including project coordination, construction management, subcontractor management, and owners’ representative responsibilities., • Experience with capex planning and execution, including managing large-scale projects ranging from approximately $500K to $50MM+., • Solid understanding of mechanical engineering and electrical engineering principles as they relate to construction and manufacturing projects., • Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations and site readiness requirements, including commissioning, startup, and operational handoff., • Demonstrated understanding of project budgeting, scheduling, resource planning, risk management, contractor and vendor oversight, commissioning, startup, and operational handover processes., • Familiarity with engineering standards, safety and compliance requirements, and long-term operational reliability strategies in industrial settings., • Ability to lead cross-functional teams in a matrix environment and influence stakeholders without direct authority., • Experience in construction project management within manufacturing, industrial operations, food, pharmaceutical, chemical, packaging, or other regulated production environments (preferred)., • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to coordinate with internal teams and external partners., • Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to defined scope while maintaining high safety and quality standards.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience expanding existing manufacturing footprints and developing new sites, including coordination of multi-year capital programs., • Background in safety-focused construction and engineering environments, with a commitment to regulatory compliance and best practices., • Exposure to capital investment prioritization processes and long-term operational reliability planning., • Ability to develop and interpret project charters, business cases, and budget estimates for complex capital initiatives., • Experience working as an owners’ representative, overseeing contractors, consultants, and equipment suppliers., • Familiarity with regulated production environments such as food, pharmaceutical, chemical, or packaging, including quality and compliance considerations., • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify risks, develop mitigation plans, and optimize project outcomes., • Ability to manage and report on capital budgets, forecasts, cash flow, change controls, and cost-to-complete metrics for multiple programs., • Demonstrated capability in cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.Work Environment This role operates within a dynamic, growth-oriented manufacturing environment that is expanding its existing footprint at the Orangeburg site and developing a newly acquired site in Tappan, NY. Work may include time in office settings for planning, budgeting, and coordination, as well as regular presence on construction and manufacturing floors to monitor progress, ensure safety, and support commissioning and startup activities. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Montvale, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $170000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
