Job Description $24-28/hour with Overtime Description A software and manufacturing company in the Virginia Beach area is seeking a detail-oriented individual eager to build a long-term career in a friendly, fast-growing, and team-oriented environment. This position will supervise the Quality Fulfillment Services department, all orders and requests that flow through this division and all personnel within that department. This position is logistics-intensive, requires quick problem-solving skills and can be physically demanding. Exceptional organizational, communication and time-management skills are critical for success in this position. Duties • Lead, prepare and coordinate the inspection and on time completion of over 75,000 units weekly with different criteria requirements for each mailing/shipment with additional staff members., • Schedule, organize, and effectively communicate daily work priorities with an emphasis on timely and realistic throughput., • Effectively and efficiently manage daily production fluctuations and reprioritize frequently among fluid and competing deadlines as necessary., • Utilize and maintain various types of mailing equipment and machinery to maximize department efficiency and output., • Improve upon, coordinate, and exemplify the utmost effort to ensure jobs meet or exceed specified QFS quality standards., • Communicate effectively and professionally with unique and diverse personalities., • Collaborate with fellow supervisors and/or Managers/Directors to effectively resolve issues pertaining to workflow, inventory or those which have significant financial impact., • Address issues pertaining to financial or significant inventory impact in the department and follow-up with fellow supervisors and/or Managers/Directors., • Establish and maintain a positive relationship with internal staff and outside vendors., • Hires and trains front-line employees., • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations., • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy., • Maintain safe workspace following all established safety guidelines., • Responsible for establishing and maintaining department SOPs, assist with KPIs and other metrics applying lean manufacturing principles., • Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor., • Inspire others to achieve personal growth as well as company goals., • Assist with all other tasks and duties (both in and across departments) as assigned or requested. Requirements • Bachelor’s Degree preferred., • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in management role leading people., • Excellent communication and leadership skills., • Organizational and time management skills., • Ability to present a professional, business casual appearance in accordance with company standards., • Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word and Excel is required., • Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems in machinery is required. Strong mechanical skills preferred., • Basic understanding of lean manufacturing principles and techniques required. Certification or comparable working experience preferred., • Experience in mailroom, insertion of documents into various mailing vessels, document inspection, quality assurance and/or customer service is a plus., • Working knowledge of Shipwise, or comparable mailing/logistics software preferred., • Candidates must be willing and able to work mandatory overtime during seasonal peaks of business. This may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed, to meet operational demands and ensure timely completion of business objectives., • Physically able to push/pull/lift/carry supplies and various works in progress of at least 50 pounds., • Physically able to bend/kneel/walk/stand, in tandem with cart, stepstools or rolling ladders, to access supplies and various works in progress or other materials as needed in storage rooms or production areas. Skills • Must have strong interpersonal skills and be a critical thinker as related to processes and throughput., • Excellent problem-solving ability., • Ability to be efficient and deadline driven while balanced with detailed quality standards., • Ability to create and manage a schedule for an entire departments staff to meet fulfillment goals and deadlines., • Ability to learn internal applications as needed, quickly and efficiently., • Ability to listen and lead by example., • Excellent computer, keyboarding, math, reading, verbal, and written skills., • Strong comprehension of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic mechanics., • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform light repairs on industrial machinery., • Ability to comprehend and apply lean manufacturing principles in a variety of processes., • Capable of self-managing and multi-tasking while making sound and justifiable decisions., • Work in concert with a team OR independently, without direct supervision/guidance, depending on the situation., • Can sit or stand and work for long periods of time while maintaining attention and concentration., • Good vision, with or without corrective lenses, to sustain adequate visual focus over a period of time., • Fine motor skills, including, but not limited to, the full, complete use of and muscle control required to make precise hand movements, relative to tasks requiring hand-eye coordination, muscle coordination and dexterity.
